I'm looking for a replacement convergence board for my Jvc AV48WP74 tv. SSB-5068A-M2 I've replaced the STK392-150 ic's already and after a week they failed again. JVC does not return my calls.

A Google search for the board part number returned several sources. Here's one. You should also check the values of resistors around the STK's. When the IC's fail, the resistors can change value which can cause the repeat failure you're experiencing.

I have a JVC AV-56Wp74 Blue power light on the front keeps blinking and the screen is black & makes a popping sound

There are a couple of common problems this model has--one is easy to confirm.

How handy are you if I tell you to disconnect the convergence board to see if it is your problem?

The blinking blue light means the set is in protective shutdown, and I know a fairly easy way to see if it is your problem and how to fix the set if it is.

Let me know if you need help--I am here to help people and l know a lot about this set.

JVC AV56wp74 convergence. Resistor before ICs?

It's recommended to replace all the defective parts first because if you only replace the defective resistor, it might burnt again if the convergence IC is shorted internally. I would also suggest to measure the other low value resistors with multimeter.

ConvergenCE problem still after replace the chips

Check the resistors on the convergence board by the IC's. Chances are that 1 or two of them are open. If you can't fix it, you can remove the convergence board and send to PTS electronics and have it rebuilt.

JVC AV-56WP74 convergence board...add'l question

I just removed both of my 110 IC's and replaced them with 150's. However in the process of removing the solder from the old board, I may have damaged the pads/vias where the pins make contact. Be careful of this when removing solder. I also blew 5 resistors after plugging in the new IC's.

hi there, i had the exact same problem as you and this is how we solved it. Instead of replacing the convergence IC's as suggested above, which requires soldering and de-soldering, which could damage your board (this happeend to us). Order online part # SSB-5068A. This is the ENTIRE convergence board with new IC's. Cost you about $140 (from vance baldwin.com) but is a lot less hassle than you trying to soldering/desoldering parts. Only thing is, next to the 2 large heat sinks, there is this large silver component that you need to unscrew from your old board, and unplug and attach to your new board. We tok the new board..hooked up all the wires..and voila, no more convergence issues.
