Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

Not charging Hi, my zen player will run only if plugged in via adapter. the icon says it's fully charged, but any disconnection from power supply stops everything. Can't even start up without plug. thanks, rich

If its a rather old or heavily used mp3 player the most likely cause is a faulty battery

As the display times out after a few seconds, press any button on the player to reactivate the display. If the battery is fully depleted, the charging icon may not be displayed. Cup the player in your hands to check that the blue power LED behind the Play/Pause and Options buttons is blinking on and off repeatedly. This indicates that the player is successfully charging. When I plug it in to charge the player, it says "docked" as usual, but then it turns itself off and acts like I've disconnected it. It says "Low Battery" and shuts down.


The zen need a full charge... if you have an ac adapter plug it in for at least eight hours. if you don't have an ac adapter plug it in via USB to a DESKTOP computer (not laptop) and try to use a differnt usb cord (creative doesn't always include a powerful enough cord to get the zen out of that low power state)

Charging


As long as you have the USB 2.0 type cable, and the software loaded, you can charge the ZEN V on your computer. Be sure to load the software first. It will take several hours to charge fully the first time. While it is charging you can add music. When you see the plug icon in the upper right corner, it is fully charged. Be sure you are not adding music while you disconnect. Otherwise, just pull the plug and the ZEN should play for up to 12 hours.

The apple usb power adapter only works on apple products.
