He may have "unplugged" it before it was ready to be unplug or moved it when the drive was still spinning down.
or -- he must have handled it roughly or dropped it, even a little drop.
I think you need a new one (bf) ... The hard drive may still work... try every different USB port on your computer. If none work, then take it back and plug it into your ex-bf's computer and see if it works. Take your receipt with you.

Let us know ....... what kind of movies....

You need to plug in the USB power cord to stop it from beeping and then the drive will turn on ( you need to have the USB power cord plugged in and the mini usb plugged in at the same time ) the beeping is that the drive dose not have the power to boot up

Take it back to bf's and confirm it is still working well. Come back and confirm that it is installed, If it came with a CD use it to install it. That should solve it.

Some PCs automatically install some device (plug and play) while other require installtion from a CD.

Whenever I plug the lacie hardrive into my computer nothing happens on the computer but a red light turns on and flashes on the lacie

If it still has a valid warranty, exercise the warranty to get a free replacement.

Otherwise, open the enclosure, and separate the disk-drive from the USB-to-disk-drive adapter, and connect the disk-drive as a 'slave' disk-drive in a desktop computer, to see if the adapter was the problem.

My LaCie external hardrive doesn't show on my desktop anymore when I plug it in. This just started today yesterday it was fine, but now the light doesnt even come on

First try to plug it in to a different port on your computer.
If it still doesn't come up, reboot your computer, Still not working? Try connecting it to a different computer.
If the drive still doesn't come up on the other computer most likely the case/ housing will need to be replaced.

After dropping lacie: red light and recurring audible beep.

You can only hope that the drop has dislodged the drive from the internal connections in the case and has not damaged the drive. You'll have to figure out how to get the case apart.

My hard disk fell down. and now the USB doesnt recognise. What will happen now?

something in side prob snapped, prob one of the connections that connect the usb plug, to the hardrive itself. 2 options, pop it open soder any bad connections, or get a new one.

My Lacie driver is no longer acessable

you could send me it lol :)

When you say it gives you a blank window did you leave it for a while - I have to do that with my 500gb hard drive which has a lot of stuff on it and it takes a while to read what it needs to before it shows the files / folders

maybe a defrag if you can get it back up and running and also try it on a different usb port on the back of the same computer it was working on
