Question about Philips 60PP9401 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

(ATTN: Terryfic) STK392-110 vs. STK394-160E

First off, thank you so much for the advice in your last post. (http://www.fixya.com/support/t299025-convergence_short_60pp9401)

In reference to that, is the STK394-160E (CZ01341) an upgrade to the stock part? i was a little unclear about that, and is this the part you had in mind? (http://www.partstore.com/Part/Hitachi+Ltd/Hitachi/CZ01341/New.aspx)

Also, is there a simple disassembly procedure, or should i find the service manual just in case?

Hi ! Just came across this second post................

Hitachi advanced / upgraded from STK392-110 to STK392-150 to
STK394-160E = Hitachi part # CZ01341....in other words,if you
order from a large supplier like Andrews Electronics and ask for
HITACHI STK392-110, they will sub to & ship # ...CZ 01341 .

TOSHIBA STK392-110 subs to STK392-110T # 23135090

NAP STK392-110 = Philips part # xxxxxxxxxxx ( EXPENSIVE )

NAP STK392-120 = Philips part # 932212344682

The common STK # is NOT the MFR 's # and that's where
quality is questionable.................end of story.......T.

NAD C352 turns on but no sound

Hello,

The first and easiest things would be to check all connections.
Speaker wires
RCA Cables !!

If you are getting a green light you are getting proper power and ground connection.

Other than that the other possibility's would be internal components, capacitors ect.

I would be willing to bet something has come jarred loose. Post back after you have checked and double checked all connections.

Have a panasonic pt-47wx53 47"

crsheidt,
I am having the same problem.Terryfic gave me some good advice I am the process of taking. The service manual will help you locate the convergence IC circuit board so you can remove it to replace the IC`s. If you need I can send you a copy of the location picture from the service manual.I recommend you contact Terryfic for exact advice.

Panasonic Projection HDTV

Hi odd johnny,

My sincerest apologies. My area of experience with Panasonic models are rather limited to diagnosis and power supplies. May I recommend instead hdtv_guru, techman or terryfic who I consider more knowledgeable and experienced on convergence circuits.

Nonetheless, I appreciate you bringing your concern to my attention and wish I could do more.

I have taken the liberty of pre-informing these gentlemen of your concern.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Akai rear projection has 3 colors blue green yellow.

Problem is not adjustable = convergence mis-alignment is caused by failure of STK392-040 IC's. Replace both with name
brand only = no generics.I use Panasonic with excellent results.
Let me know if you want tech step-by-step detail...............T.

Fuse blown

ok well i would check for a open diode in the main ac to dc power supply then check all resistors that look lick they may be low ohms but high watt check to see if you might have a open pico fuse from primary power supply to the regulator check and see if you have stand by voltage this would be easily checked on the power off oan on button get back to me k
