Ice crusher does not turn

I have an ice crusher that doesn't turn. Auger is OK and turns by itself when removed. Crusher motor does not turn when all switches are depressed and I am now certain it is the motor or electrical connection to motor. How do I remove the motor to replace it?

I also cannot find the replacement part. I have searched all the usual places for icemakers and crushers. Was able to find ice maker parts and even the 3 pronged connection between motor and auger, but can't find the motor.

I am Mark892. I found the motor, but now the mystery is how to disassemble the door. I removed every screw I could find from the outside and inside, and plastic parts still appear to be glued and/or snapped into place. ANY CLUE to tell me where to get access (inside or out) and where to apply leverage to plastic parts that won't break them?

KSCS25FKSS is the model you posted under is this the correct model number. If so the motor should be behind the panel directly behind the ice bin inside the freezer.

The motor coupling you see from the front is reversed thread, turn it to the right to remove it best bet is to tap it to loosen it up

$120 make sure it isn't just frozen before you buy another one.

Kitchenaid KSRS25 Ice dispenser blades get stuck

Greetings,
In looking up this partial model # KSRS25, it shows you have
the model with the large ice bin inside the freezer.
My question to you is: Does the auger motor run when you
push the ice lever?
2 trouble prone parts on this model. Both in the case of NO
auger motor activation.
#1 broken pin that hold the micro-switch on to the switch bracket.
Item # 15

1690545?addlogo=false

Next #2 and the Worst, A Broken Blue wire or wires in the wire loom
under the freezer door hinge. Un-repairable new door needed if still
available.. You have to get creative restoring the power.
So before I continue, Does the Auger motor Run?
And if it does, remove the bin and close the door switch that turns the
light off, and tape switch shut. With door open and ice cradle pushed
in watch the auger drive fork turn? Is the the key hole stripped in the
fork.(rounded out) May need the fork or motor. #9 & #2

I have a GE Profile refrigerator, Model PFSS6PKWBSS, with icemaker on door. Water is collecting under Deli-draw and leaking down freezer door onto floor. How do I fix leak?

Hi

Try and access the ice dispenser assembly and check from where the water is leaking. You would need to disassemble the ice dispenser and ice maker to check this. The ice dispenser is located in the upper portion of the freezer compartment. This assembly stores ice made by the icemaker and dispenses ice on demand from the door dispenser target switch.
1. Remove the upper ice bucket tray.
2. Slide out the ice dispenser assembly.
3. Remove the ice cube solenoid linkage Phillips head screw and slide the linkage back.
4. Remove the ice crusher cover Phillips head screws (2) and remove the cover.
5. With a pair of pliers, twist off the backing plate tabs located on either side of the crusher.
6. With 2 small flat-blade screwdrivers, unlock the ice crusher locking tabs located at either side of the ice crusher.
7. Lift the ice crusher out of the bucket.
8. Remove the ice crusher back cover.
9. Remove the locking ring from the ice crusher auger.
10. Remove the plastic nut with a pair of pliers by turning it clockwise.
11. Remove the spacers and blades. The blades are numbered for reassembly.

Icemaker--
The icemaker is located in the upper rear of the freezer compartment and supplies ice to the dispenser tub.
1. Disconnect the icemaker cable connector.
2. Remove 1/4-in. icemaker mounting screws and slide out the icemaker.
This refrigerator is equipped with an Electronic Icemaker.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Ice crusher will not work. Power to the motor is sufficient as it clicks and tries to turn. Believe that the motor is bad. GE refrigerator with top freezer. Motor is expensive, any way to test motor?

The ge's have a problem with the auger freezing up some times. What you will need to do is to remove the auger assembly and thaw it out with a hair dryer and then before putting back in make sure it is completly dry and able to turn with hand. Hope this helps.

Ice crusher don't work

Hi, It sounds like the selonoid that shifts the auger is not working. This part is located behind the panel that the bucket pushes against. The little wire arm on the bucket goes into this. Sometimes they just get froze up from the moister. If you remove the panel/section the selonoid is in, you can see if the part has went bad.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know If I can assist you further.

GE PS123 MGNA CC Ice Auger

I just finished replacing the ice auger in my GE HSS25GFPA side-by-side and offer some suggestions/hints.
The auger (WR17X11705) was available locally (Appliance Parts Co., $28.97). This fits many other refrigerators. The replacement took a little under 2 hours. I estimate these hints may cut the time by one-half.
There are only 4 screws in the entire ice drawer assembly. It possibly was not necessary to remove the control rod. The other 3 screws hold the front cover. There are also 2 tabs holding the top of the cover.
The most difficult part of the repair was removal of the plastic assembly housing the crusher blades and the front bearing of the auger. This is held in place by only 2 large square tabs on the sides. There is enough space to get ONE side to release BUT to get both released required careful prying with thin-bladed screwdrivers (and prayer). These "tabs" don't push in, rather the drawer flexes out. Once released, the unit slides up and angles to allow removal of the auger/crusher. Re-assembly could not be easier. Stainless sheet metal screws would probably work if you do break something.
Remove the clear inside cover of the crusher assembly and the "C" clip on the threaded end of the auger shaft to separate the auger from the crusher.
And now for my PRIMARY reason for sharing my experience - the %#$@ plastic nut/bearing is a LEFT-HAND THREAD. I only realized this when trying to bend my make-shift split screwdrive back and the SOB loosened right up!
Carefully note the locations and orientations of the blades and spacers as you move them from the old to the new auger.
Good luck!

NO ICE AND IS MAKING FUNNY NOISE

I also have the same model as you. My problem with the ice maker has been build-up of ice under the cube pan which holds the crusher and cubes. ( I pulled the pan out and cleaned up the ice, pushed and re-seated the pan against the back of the freezer where it connects into the crusher motor). In a day or 2 it was working fine again. I got this problem because my son was pullying the pan out and emptying all the ice-cubes into his cooler for his bottles of water and soda., He was not pushing the pan back far enough to seat into the motor of the crusher and this left room for the ice to accumulate under the pan and pushing it forward away from the crusher motor which makes a loud noise when the pan is not seated correctly. There is another problem I had because the freezer was opened to often. The door dispenser became warm and the crushed ice accumulated in the dispenser and froze there, so if I opened the door, ice-cubes would fall out of the pan all over the floor. Also check the back of the pan where the crusher connects to the motor, mine was full of frozen moisture turned to ice which kept the crusher from seating properly. If this is not your problem then I would call a repairman as doing it yourself can be expensive because you may buy a part and then find out the old one was ok and it still doesn't work. Ice maker parts are very expensive .If you are positive that you know what is wrong then by all means fix-it. Also check your frozen food if it is frozen solid or soft, you may have a completely different problem than the ice-maker. Hope I helped some.
