Question about Poulan Pro Chain Saw 46cc 20"

1 Answer

I need to replace a vibration mount on a Poulan Pro 285 chainsaw but do not know the part # unless it is on the illustrated parts list 530-066768. Do I have to purchase this parts list for $10 just to find the part #?

I think this is your saw. The IPL can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
Select "PP285 Gas Saw"; Click "View the illustrated parts list [Go] "; expand the IPL that appears and select "EXTERNAL POWER UNIT". Item 5 is the "Lower Isolator" $2.41 each plus shipping. Click the "Add to cart" link and you are almost done. You have to supply your own credit card number (LOL). HTH

Poulan Pro Chainsaw chain tensioner is junk -- chain now goes from tight to falling off in 1 cut. Model PP4620AVX. Looking for more foolproof mechanism!

Hammy if you scream loud enough Poulan may foot the bill for this.
Poulan “PP4620AVX” IPL (exploded parts list)
We are going to replace this page 2; item 70
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/NIUS/NIUS2009/NIUS2009-PP4620AVX-545103410-952802169.pdf

Poulan “PP4620AVHD” IPL
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/PP4620AVHD-Gas-Saw/75.PP4620AVHD-Gas-Saw.1.59.1.html
With this; “Handle, Chassis & Bar Assembly” print; item 67; ChainBrake Assembly; $21.83.
You also need;
  • Item 68; Bar Mounting Nut; $0.56 each (need 2) and
  • “Engine Assembly” print; not illustrated; part number 545006011; Scrench; $9.75.
This is the configuration professionals have used forever. The only thing to remember here is to hold the nose of the bar up when adjusting and tightening the bar nuts.

I need to change the gas hoses for my Poulan 221

As I promised Felix an IPL for a Poulan "PP221 Gas Chain Saw Type 4" follows (may not be your saw):
The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best. Fuel components and part numbers are listed but may be on different illustrations. They are also beneficial with disassembly/reassembly: It is deceptive it appears the filtered line goes to the primer, it doe not! It connects to the carburetor input. Trace your existing lines and they will bear my fuel schematic out.
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/PP221-Gas-Chain-Saw-Type-4/75.PP221-Gas-Chain-Saw-Type-4.1.59.1.html

A typical fuel system and a couple of hints can be found here:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3706813-2_cycle_fuel_system_repair

If your saw is not a Type 4, you can find the correct IPL here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

If looking for parts your OM is of little value. You can find an IPL (exploded parts list) here (only one PP255 listed):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/PP255-Gas-Saw/75.PP255-Gas-Saw.1.59.1.html
Rear vibration (isolation spring)s appear to be item 5 or 59 on the "Exterior Assembly" print.

Poulan replacement OM.

I had to replace all my gas line on my Poulan 446t i need someone that knows how they hookup

Typical fuel system and a couple of tips. Leave the carburetor connections a little long so they can be swapped if need be. I think the upper most connection goes to the bleeder.

I think this is an IPL for your pole saw: (there are others, this may not be your saw):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/PP446T-Gas-Pole-Pruner/75.PP446T-Gas-Pole-Pruner.1.59.1.html
The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best; components are listed but may be on different illustrations.

All Models:
Poulan.com

The dash number of your serial number is the type (true for chainsaw, my first pole saw. If uncertain try to contact them please.). HTH

Please reply back (below) with the final configuration. Help me provide better guidance to the next guy please.
