Speed up your computer by:

-- cleaning system junk
-- optimizing computer services
-- optimizing internet
-- repairing registry
-- defraging registry
-- clearing browsers junk

do these things with some secure tool such as Intel Software Partner Reginout.

If you have ruled out viruses, spyware, and other malware and if you have ruled out application or driver failures you'll need to check your mobo for component failures. I have the same computer and this is what happened to the motherboard in mine and at least two other people's. the screen image freezes with repetitious audio repeats. This component failure causes memory issues. If you have eliminated all other possibilities then it is a hardware failure with the mobo. These mobos are Dell Foxconn LS-36 propriatary and are next to impossible to replace.

Try this...reboot the computer and as it starts to come back up, press the F8 key at the top of your keyboard to enter Safe Mode without networking.

See if the computer will stay on longer than 5 minutes.

Run you anti-virus program in safe mode and see if there is any malware on your machine.

That's a start. Let me know waht you find and we'll work on it more.

Try running Apple Hardware Test on the machine (it's one of the discs that came with the machine.) Also, if it's freezing by showing the spinning rainbow cursor (beachballing) you may have a failing hard drive. That wouldn't be uncommon for how old the machine is.

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRC05L5DW1, is freezing the inside as well as running constantly. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at the circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. When power is restored, if you are still having the same issues, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Acer 5542 freezes

You can start by checking the Event Viewer. Right click My Computer / Manage. Check System for Errors and Warnings. They can be very technical, but most likely there is some event. Check Application as well. There is a Filter option under View. Leave Warning and Error checked.

A helpful tip.
Slow Windows Machine! Sounds like not enough resources such as RAM and CPU. Check Performance in Task-Manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE). Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

System crashes completely. just freezes and never recovers. for some odd reason, when i try to run the windows repair, it crashes as well giving me the blue screen of death. i have three other hard drives:...

You are probably correct in thinking it a motherboard problem, its sounds like the disk controller on the motherboard id faulty.
There are a huge range of motherboards to choose from.
The mounting holes on the motherboard will match the desktop mounting plate, these are standard configurations.
Stick with the well known brands and with the functions that suit your requirements.
My choice of brands are Gigabyte, Intel, MSI.
If you are into gaming and video editing etc. go for a motherboard without a built-in graphics card and purchase a separate high end graphics card.

Did you disable the onboard sound in the BIOS?

If you haven't done this yet (you may have), try it and post your results back here...

Playstation 3 80 GB will not boot up to start menu

If you can get to it without it freezing use the System Restore function under:

System->Settings>Restore PS3

If you can't get to it because of freezing you should put your hard drive into another PS3. It will see it as a new drive and prompt you to format it. Afterwards put it back into your PS3 and it will do the same thing again.

It doesn't matter which PS3 yours or the one you put your hard drive into, they're all the same as far as the process goes.

This will sort everything out.

Fails to boot

You might try a Hirens Boot CD, un-zip the files, create a bootable cd from the .ISO file and boot your troubled system, select virus scan on boot.
