Phone worked just fine on moving day. Moved phone to new location, plugged it in and handset now says "no link to base." Anyone have a solution?

Phone has been working fine. Just got a call on the phone. Tried to use few minutes later, and main base says "green" (phone in use) and extensions all say "no link to base". My ground line is fine and has a dial tone. I can also use dial-up on the internet. Just can't use the Panasonic phones.

I had exactly the same problem. I tried re-registering the handset several times with no change. In desperation, I took the battery out of the handset for a minute or so and unplugged the transformer from the wall. I reinstalled the battery and plugged the transformer back in and voila! The phone now works! No guarantees that it will work for everyone, but it worked for me.

Thanks be to God!! I would like to express my appreciation for forms like this. I have a Panasonic KX-TG5433 with three hadsets that lost their links to the base. I tried everthing, including removal of batteries, disconneted and relocating the base; however, after reviewing a suggestion of removing batteries and unplugging base for at least 3 minutes....IT WORKED. It is about 1:40 am and when my wife awakes in the morning, she will know that I am still the man!!!

Panasonic:
Model KX-TG2217S

Phone was working fine. Got static on line so decided to try another phone outlet. Got "No link to base - Place on cradle and try again". Now it does not work in the original outlet as well.

Checked phone line to outlet - swapped with a new one and no difference. Removed battey and tried and same thing.

Thx for your help.

Try unplugging the base unit and plugging it back in again. This is not guaranteed to help but has worked in the past.

No link t move closer to base try again base

this depends on what phone you have. most pjones when you open the back of the battery cover, their is a connect button really small. look around the base for a connect button and press the base connect button first, then the phone. after abit they should connect to each other. plaese let me know if this does not work

Phone says OUT OF RANGE while on the base and won't work.

The handset has lost the link with the base. This link codes the handset to the base with a unique security code so others with the same phone cannot use your phone line.

If you changed the battery, try disconnecting the base telephone line and ac adapter for a while (1/2 hour or so if possible).

Remove the battery from the handset as well.

After 1/2 hour, install the battery in the handset, connect the telephone line and ac adapter to the base. Place the handset in the charging base and the link should be established. If not, the phone is defective.

"no link to base" error message

Sounds like the antenna is not working, and signal is not getting to the cordless sets.

Try unplugging your base station (unplug everything; power and phone cable - the basestation were all the cords are plugged into) and leave it unplugged, pull out all the batteries in the phones, and then start by putting all the batteries back into the phones.

Once the phones are back and powered up, plug in the base station again, and see if that helps.
All this is doing is re-setting the phones and base station and forcing them to re-link to each other.

I hope this helps.

Not registered

hello there i think this is because you need to register the second handset with the base here are the instructions

REGISTRATION
Registration links the base to a cordless handset. Once a handset is
registered it can use the base’s phone connection. A cordless handset will
not operate until it is registered to the base. During the registration
process, keep the handset near the base.
1. Press the flash/program button on the base until LINK HANDSET shows
in the display. 2NO is the default setting.
2. Press the 1 number key or press the MESSAGES/CID (or) button
on the base to scroll to 1YES.
3. Press flash/program to confirm handset is linked to the base. WAITING
HANDSET REGISTRATION shows in the display.
4. Press the flash/program button on the handset until LINK BASE? shows
in the display. 2NO is the default setting.
5. Press 1 on the handset keypad or cid/vol (or) button on the
handset to scroll to 1YES.confirmation tone when the handset is successfully linked to the base.
6. Press flash/program on the handset again to confirm. You will hear a long

please leave rating if you find this usefull hope this helps thanx for using fixya!!
