There should be a valet switch under the dash, you have to turn the ignition switch on with your key, then press the valet switch

Car won't start. Battery not taking jump?

Their is a reset button on Jags you can't jump them or recharge the battery if they sit long .A lot of people have them and don't drive them in the winter .
I'm no export on Jaguars but I know their is a reset .The cruise control issue is the same in most vehicles it works with the brake switch ABS transmission vehicle speed sensors and the transmitter for the key less entree system .
I would say a battery issue .

2004 Hyundai Elantra won't start, emergency flashers keep blinking, can't shut off, lights dim, can't jump start, clicking from under dash from relays. What could it be?

The 'Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm System" is activated. You must 'Disarm' the system using the Keyless Entry Remove (Key Fob) to "Reset" the system. The reason the engine won't start is due to the burglar alarm - it has a "Starter Kill" circuit which is activated when the alarm is activated. The alarm must be DEactivated to DEactivate the 'Starter Kill' circuit.
Another way to start the engine is to get in the car, put the key in the ignition and turn it to 'ON" and wait 3 to 5 minutes until the emergency flashers stop/turn off. Afterward, you should be able to start the engine. NOTE: This does NOT reset the burglar alarm. It will go off again when you enter the vehicle without using the remote/key fob.

My 2006 volvo s40 won't start and the key (remote) does not work. Had to use regular key to open the door. alarm still on and car won't start.

I had the same problem when my battery went flat and tried to use jumper cables connected to another vehicles battery. I called Volvo and they said I need to disconnect the battery terminal to reset the computer. After re-conecting it the remote control worked again and I was able to jump start the car. Maybe your car's computer went into a similar state.

Factory alarm started acting up a few days ago, now car won't start. only hear single click noise. managed to jump started it once

The first thing i would do is to have the battery tested, most problems occur due to a weak battery so i would start by having the battery tested first you may have a low weak battery thats why you were able to jump start it . good day.

I repaired and replaced the speakers in my 97 JGC Orvis and a few days later, the alarm system "lost it mind". Any connection? If the speaker polarity is not right, can this affect the security...

The speaker polarity has nothing to do with the alarm system so don't worry about that.Usually when your battery is dying it causes your cars electrical system to do strange things like setting off the alarm, turning on the driving lights, ect. Reset the alarm system ONLY after you have had the battery fully charged so it will retain your settings.

2004 A 8L won"t start

starter wont click because there's not enough "juice" to turn it over. this isnt because of the battery as you have just replaced it. it is due to a bad alternator recharging the battery as you drive. if it were only a fuse it would be the solenoid in the starter. but if it had started after you installed the battery then its not the solenoid. solution: buy a refurbished alternator and
