I am using LapLink Professional (version 2.0a) to connect my laptop with my
desktop. I am connecting the two PC's using a Laplink cable (yellow) connected
to each parallel port. When I start laplink on each system, a connection is
made, but as soon as a connection is made it is disconnected. I would
appreciated any suggestions. Thanks!

Are you using Windows 95/98? If so then just use a direct cable connection,
using the same cable, to ensure that it is not a hardware problem. Why use
the laplink software anyway? Is it faster?

In my opinion Direct Cable Connection is the worst feature of the Win95/98
setup, you need to be a genius to get it to work, I use a serial cable and
tranxit, Fabulous!

I am using win98. I have not tried to setup direct cable connection, I don't
know if it would be faster. Using laplink you also have the capability to
connect via modems.
