Question about Viking 24 in. Professional Series VUD141 (Ultra-Premium) Built-in Dishwasher

Found short; repaired. Labelled connector order for re-install on main knob/VB, but did not (stupidly) notice which lugs where not used. Runs some, no water, etc.

    Not even close, yet. Power is not the problem; distribution through the 8 connectors on the lower portion of the main, 5-position rotary switch is.

    I removed and numbered the 8 connectors to effect a repair. I need to know what 2 lugs are to
    be left un-connected. The inlet valve is not opening to allow water to flow. The circulation pump is running, though.

    A picture of the right side of the rotary switch would work, or the 2 untapped connecdtions, i.e. 5a
    and 8b or whatever.

    That would solve my problem.

    On a Viking VUD 141 dishwasher, the rotary switch and timer housing lower portion has 10 electrical lugs on the right side.

    Which two are left untapped?

Behind the front 'kick plate' is the tech sheet for the machine. It should have a schematic for the machine. there are wire numbers and colors for each wire. I bet if you study it, you will see what you need to do.

Thanks for using FixYa.First, make sure that the unit is getting power to the cord. Next, take the kickplate off below the door. There is a silver box with wire connections inside it's about 3" x 3". Remove the cover and look at the wire connections. This is where your cord connects in with your dishwasher. If the connections check good and they're not melted or shorted then you probably have a bad control board.

A device may cease to function or operate sporadically if the electrical cord is damaged. Inspect the cord for any of the following damage.

  • Is the wire shielding pulling away from the plug?

  • Is the cord secure where it connects to the device?

  • Are there black smudges or burn marks on the outlet, cord or anywhere the cord comes in contact?

  • Are there cracks in the shielding or exposed wire?

  • Has the cord been pinched or bent so that the wire inside may have broken?

  • If the answer to any of these questions is "yes", then the cord should be replaced.

    You can see the blown use, tripped circuit breaker, wiring
    connections, door latch, timer motor and selector switch just clicking on the words shown in blue color.

    Please check for a blown fuse, tripped circuit breaker Also
    check that the dishwasher is plugged in securely. Inspect the wiring connections
    to the dishwasher for burns or breaks. Check the door latch, test the door switch, the timer motor, selector switch, motor
    start relay and even motor itself.

    If the drain pump is
    running continuously, then there is probably a leak in the pump housing area
    below the unit.

my guess is that fuse is in the mains box under hood..
and is a real fuse and not a circuit breaker found elsewhere....????
old car, and can be anything this old.
sounds like fuse #33 in the main box blew. and feeds the white wire main.
USA car? ABS opted? A/C opted. sure.
top cause, shorted alternator, so take off that big wire from alternator
and see if fuse blows now. (do so with battery neg lug removed
the remove alt big wire and tape it all up, so it can touch metal.
then put back battery Neg lug, and last the fuse.

the whtte feed goes vast places and runs whole sections of
the cab fuse boxes and power windows.

if the Alt is good.
then you must start dropping all white wire loads.
if it still blows, the harness is shorted.
I personally just uses a temporary circuit breaker in place of the
50 amp to find the short and an ampclamp DC ammeter.

It would be much easier to simply heat up the solder connections and get them to make contact if possible. A picture of the problem would really be a huge help. Many people have these types of amps and you might find some one that will sell you the parts you need but without a picture it's hard to say if they will be exact matches.

Window on drivers side froze and fell down and won't roll back up. How to take door panel off to fix the window

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Important: When removing a door trim panel or switch plate, disconnect the negative battery terminal. This will eliminate the possibility of shorting out the switch if you use a screwdriver, an awl, or other metal object in order to remove the switch from the harness.
  2. Remove the window regulator handle, if equipped.
  3. Remove the front door warning reflector.
  4. Remove the door panel screw (1) through the hole in the door warning reflector opening.
  5. Use a flat bladed tool in order to remove the rear deck release switch bezel.
  6. Disconnect the rear deck release switch.
  7. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the lower switch bezel trim screw access cover.
  8. Remove the lower switch bezel trim screws.
  9. Remove the lower switch bezel
  10. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to pry the front door switch bezel upward.
  11. Disconnect:
  1. Gently disengage the front door trim retaining clips and remove the door trim panel from the door.
Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front door trim panel to the door. Ensure that the retainers are locked into place.
  2. Connect the rear deck release connector.
  3. Install the rear deck release switch bezel. Press the bezel firmly into place.
  4. Install the window regulator handle to the door.
  5. Connect:
  1. Install the front door switch bezel assembly to the front door trim panel.
  2. Install the lower switch bezel trim panel. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
  3. Install the lower switch bezel trim screws.
  4. Install the lower switch bezel trim screw access cover.
  5. Install the door trim panel screw (1) through the hole in the front door warning reflector.
  6. Install the front door warning reflector.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.

We have a Cutler-hammer CH2100 main breaker that is very old and started arcing in the box and cutting out the electricity at any moment that it wanted to. I found out that the clips on the back were not...

I was able to go online and locate numerous sites that offered the ability to order the CH2100 and also the CH2100x main breakers. You could also take the breaker to an electrical supply and see what they have to offer as a replacement, but be sure that the connectors in the panel are not damaged before purchasing and installing a new breaker.

It won't power up. Not with the remote or from the side buttons. It is plugged in and I have tried different power cords.

I used common sense.....Westinghouse tech support......and didn't have to PAY someone I don't know anything about. Now I'm just looking for a source for the power supply now. Westinghouse is helping with this. Thank you for your concern.

Look at the venting grills on the back to see if you can see any white lights inside, if no lights, then the backlight inverter may have gone out or it may not be getting the power from the main power supply section.

Dryer blower motor runs slow and makes loud humming noise.

It will almost certainly be the capacitor. Instead of buying the $60 part thru parts suppliers, I went to a local engine repair shop and bought one for $8.50 and installed it. It worked fine.
