Re: green spots

Hi there

Sounds like you've got a faulty LCD.

Unfortunately it will need replacement before it will get any better

Re: green spots

If they are blurry spots, it's dust that got into the optics. It needs a cleaning on the color filters, lenses and/or LCD panels. Very careful work with Q tips could fix it. You have to squash the Q tips to get them to fit in tight spots. Do not unscrew the LCD panels, they are hell to realign.

1,white spots appeared on screen, means the DMD is broken, you need a new DMD.
2,the projector running off after only a few minutes, means the Inductor (Sensing element),near the Color Wheel. Use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to wipe the Inductor.

Have a good day!

There is too much blue on the screen & not enough green coloring

Have a very close look at the blue and see if it's perfectly uniform across the whole screen.
If it is then altering the hue or colour temperature settings in the menu may help.
If it's not then either there are heaps of pixel failures (appearing as small rectangular spots) or degradation of the polarisers (green may be affected more than the others).
If you show the menu, do the white areas appear bluish.
If the lamp is very old then colour changes start to happen.

not sure which model you have but sounds like the blue polarizer has overheated over time. when you put the new lamp in I would think that the extra light you now have is highlighting the problem more plainly.
If this is the case then a new polarizer would be needed

Green light flashing, bulb will not turn on, green light sometimes goes to red flashing light

check the lamp. does it have bulges, black spots, flaking or fogging? if so replace it. aslo if the screen on the side is clogged with dust. if the lamp is ok, check the colorwheel. if you don't hear a high-pitched whir when you turn it on, the colorwheel motor is bad. replace the colorwheel. check the fans, too.

Blue diust specs constellation like!

If you are seeing the "spots" when a black screen is projected, the problem is likely to be scattering caused by dust on the lens. If you can get at both ends of the lens assembly, clean both sides using lens tissue. If the spots are seen at all times, there may be damage to one or more of the LCD panels.

Please update this with your results of the cleaning.

Green screen projection

This is the exact same issue as I described for an Epson user. So I'll repeat it here.

I assume this is an LCD. I don't remember the s4 being a DLP projector.

This sounds like the LCD panel used for the green color has gone out. The image is made up of red, green and blue images layered upon the screen. If the green panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the green light in the image. This causes a nice green hue to the whole screen.

It could be a simple open and reconnect fix. I personally have never opened a projector, so I'm not going to walk you through it as I do not know how hard it would be to tinker with. It should eb a cheap fix for a true repair man though.

Pink/burgandy dots or shadow on display screen

Normally one of 2 things will cause this.
  1. One if the small LCD panels inside has dead/stuck pixels. There are 3 individual panels that make up red, green and blue.
  2. Dust has entere the system and is sitting on the back of the polariser. This is a thin colour film ontop of the small LCD panel that sends the right colour light through the LCD.
If it's the first one, then it will be covered under warranty.
If it is the second they will normally cover it under warranty since their dudst filters have failed to keep the dust out of the projector.

Call the number in the back of your user manual for your area and they will arrange it all with you from there.

Random dots and no picture

Okay, I had the same problem exactly.

You can't fix it yourself. I took it to the NEC lab and they changed a card. luckily it was covered by the warranty.
