Question about Apple iPod nano 3rd Generation

1 Answer

I have an old ipod from 2 years ago that has an old code on it that we found recently in the house, but no one here remembers what the code is to use the ipod. we can not reset it and the old directions that were with it does not seem clear about how to reset it, therefore we have not been able to use it. How do you reset this so that we can use this ipod? It is an Apple ipod nano

Connect to system and when detected as a removable disk, goto ipod_control>device folder and delete or rename the file named as _locked.That should unlock it.

Iv just recently found my ipod nano and was fiddling around with it and went in to screen lock. my screen is locked and I can not remember the combination code to unlock it

Method 1: Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
Method 2: If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.

If it is specifically for windows 10 though I recommend www.win10hq.com for remote help if needed too.

Hey i found my old ipod touch back since a long time .. but forgot the codes to acces it.. and my old laptop is gone.. so on my new laptop i cant acces the restore menu cause the ipod doesnt pop up.....

Connect your iPod to your computer and wait for a few minutes for it to charge, it should pop up after it has charged to a certain amount then:

Step 1: Download http://apple.com/itunes/download
Step 2: Install iTunes by double clicking the file you just downloaded.
Step 3: Open iTunes.
Step 4: On the left side of the screen, scroll down until you see your iPod and select it.
Step 5: On the right side of the screen you should see information for your iPod, scroll down until you find a "Restore" button and click it. This WILL erase all the items that were on your iPod, there is no way around it, unless you remember the passcode for your iPod.
Step 6: Wait and you will be given a brand new Welcome Screen and follow the on-screen instructions from there.
Note: If you found this helpful, would you please vote for it?!

font.f1 { font: 12px Times; } Thanks for contacting Fixya, I am glad to assist.

font.f1 { font: 12px Times; } • If you cannot remember your pass code, you will unfortunately have to restore your iPod Touch, which will wipe everything off the iPod and restore it back to factory settings.

The only positive side to this is that your music, video, contacts and calendar settings will still be in tact but you may lose text messages mail and so on.

One more possibility: if you were able to recently sync your iPod with iTunes before you forgot your passcode, when you perform a restore, iTunes will put all of the data of your last sync in iTunes (before the passcode issue) back onto your iPod.

• This is the process which will allow you to regain access to your children's iPods.

Use the spell check and please restate your issue. Have you checked your air filter? Has the unit been serviced recently?

Zanussi washing machine.

i am a recently retired engineer of 20 years, and i have found that generally the numbers and letters are the same throughout, so the number 2 on one machine is the same as the number 2 on another make, so this rule applies for letters also, just remember what you used on your old machine and you cant go far wrong hope this helps
