Problem for Acer Aspire One PC Notebook
I can not get passed a Master Lock on my computer.

I can not get passed a Master Lock on my computer. It reads Harddisk Security, Primary Master Lock in a blue box. I do not know the password and I cannot use my computer at all without the master password. Is there anyway around this, or resetting it? Please can you help me?

This is a password setting that's been applied to this hard drive. It cannot be bypased as far as I have known. Maybe a hacker could get around it but it was designed not to allow this to happen. If you don't have the password you'll have to reformat the drive reinstall the operating system.

This depends on if this was set in the cmos (which it sounds as it was). There are some of the newer cmos hd-locks that will NOT enable you to even format a drive with this lock enabled. Sometimes you have to use a method that will nuke the hardrive and everything on it. I used to use a program called "boot & nuke" You can find it for free on the net. dariks boot and nuke is freeware. Use this as a last resort tho. Good luck
