Water first thing in the morning to avoid fungus. Water at least one inch of water at a time and let the surface dry out in between waterings - this gets the water down to the deep roots and promotes root growth. Deep roots protect the grass against drought. The appearance of the grass will change when it needs watering. For instance, footprints show more easily. Once or twice a week watering should suffice to keep it green even in the current heat, although the grass will survive on much less if it is otherwise healthy.

Short answer: Every morning and only in the morning.

Growing indoor avocado tree from seed

Make sure it doesn't stand in water, don't give it too much. Moist is OK, but it needs to all drain out. Also, don't let soil cover the top of the seed area. Mulch on top is OK, but not right over the base.

How do I keep squirrels from eating my sunflowers?

Give the squirrels another source of feed/seeds.

1.Give the squirrels their own feed away from the location to which you will be growing the sunflowers.

2.Do this before growing the sunflowers. This will get the squirrels in a pattern and to a location away from your sunflowers.

3.Keep the squirrel food container (s) full at all times. If thesquirrels are full they will not have reason to eat the sunflower seeds.

Squirrels would rather eat peanuts, seeds, oats, breads, and/or what ever you want to give them over your sunflower seeds.

** To get the old squirrels away from a location they occupy now, is to train them away from it.**

Gradually move their food source away from any location they go to now.

Once you have them following the food, keep moving it until the foodsourced is in a location you would prefer the squirrels to go to forfood, rather than the squirrels eating your sunflowers....

Good Luck!

I bought 2 bags of fast grass and 2 bags of regular for a project. Grass was spotty at best and I will never buy it again. Wasted 50 dollars on seed and dirt.

Maybe your money wasn't wasted. If the seed was used according to instructions and within date, you should demand your money back and provide evidence it didn't perform.

Why has my lawn excesive growth and also risen swollen clumps

This is could bees.
More fertilizer or manure spread in that area.
Different kind of grass seed
Is it close to a septic tank area.
Could it be an area where fresh dirt had been spread different than the slow growth area
Is that area watered more often
I had an area where the city waterline had sprung a leak and the grass grew there a lot higher till they repaired it. The ground there was a lot wetter
These are just ideas.

How do I repair a dead patch of grass ?

Rake it clean of thatch.

if you can see dirt, add seed

if you cannot see dirt, stab the area with a spade every 1 to 2 inches. then add seed. just a disperse layer of seed (not a full solid covering of seed)

cover with 1/8 inch of top soil, manure mulch/mushroom mulch or chopped straw

water

let grow (water 2x per day - enough to wet the seeds)

mow ow the first time when more than 4" tall

Why did't my garden do well?

You can do either, if you purchase a new seed kit you know the varities have been tested and grow in an AeroGarden. If you plant yourself, but sure to look for small or dwarf varities and lean toward water loving plants.
What problems did you have with your other herbs, not basil?

I started my aerogarden 1 week ago today and 3 of the pods have not sprouted. i checked the seeds and they have not even started germinating. im getting nervous. This is the gourmet herb kit that comes...

well i recently also bought a aerogarden classic which i presume you to have it states in the aerogarden hand book in the master gardener kit ( which is a seperate seed kit purchase grow your own seed kit in other words! ) it states " even though great care and consideration is taken into producing the grow pods and selecting of seeds long transportation in humid or wet conditions may destry the seed" but this does not sound like you situation it clearly statets standard germination rate for a aergo garden is 4 days to rwo weeks tops you should also take into consideration if the size of seed some seeds have a greater tolerenace of water and need a bit more time for the water to germinate the seed regarding any more answers feel free to ask me on k_kv7@hotmail.co.uk

or easy enough read through this simple PDF its not relevant to the gourmet herb kit but the genral processes apply to all seed kits and gives you some good advice on all aspects from pruning to haarvesting and most challenging of all whe you have fruitnig crop how to polinate.
