The clicking behind the refrig , is comming from the main control board , behind the 8" X 10 " panel . The part number is WR55X10656 . The compressor relay , on the board has burnt . Yes , your freezer is thawing , due to the clicking .

We started hearing a clicking or ticking noise from the motor

Did you ever get an answer back for your question? I just received my 9700 Pro in late March 2015. After only 4 times using it I also have the clicking coming from the drive motor. It sounds like the motor bearings.

This is a 9 years old fridge, I am hearing a loud noise coming from the back of the freezer occurring frequently and I suspect this might be the defroster fan or motor.
I need help to find out how can I check the cause of the noise and where do I go to order the right parts

My GE fridge model PFS22SBSASS clicks for hours at a time then goes off for a day or so. We suspect thermostat. It is 4 years old. Seems to be working normally but fear breakdown

you say you hear a clicking sound? if this happens every five minutes or so and the compressor won't start...its most likely the ptc assembly(starts compressor) its even possible compressor at fault, but if it works ok for awhile most likely the PTC needs replacing....Bruce Denton

Both fridge and freezer keep rising in temp, seems to be running constantly. Only about 3 years old. Replaced the board in it, seemed to run quietly for one day keeping proper temps, now back to running...

when you install a new board you have to check i think it's the 9 pin connector, the instructions will tell you what one it is,if there's a wire in the second pin you need to cut the wire or the machine won't run correctly.

I had this same issue and it was driving my wife nuts. Supposedly women hear high pitched sounds better than men? I called my local Appliance Parts Store, I advised them of my problem. My model # is GSH25KGRE BB GE Side by Side. (4 years old) They sold me a evaporator motor for $ 42.00. I was advised that this motor is accessed through the freezer door. After unplugging the refrigerator,I took the first self below the ice maker out, I removed the plastic light cover, there is a plastic piece with 4 slots in it, take the two 1/4 screws out and bend that plastic piece up. You will see the motor housing which needs to be removed I believe there are four more 1/4 screws. The motor itself will have a white fan attached to it which you will use on the new motor. Remove the fan via 4 more 1/4 screws you will also see the wire harness going up through one of the plastic pieces. This is where I had a little trouble, I couldn't get the harness to come apart from the plastic piece, I was afraid I would break something as hard as I was pulling. I decided to cut the 4 wires (red, blue, white, yellow) close to the old motor and splice in my new motor after cutting off the plug. I reassemble the unit and it solved the problem. I am the hero at our house and saved us from having to buy a new unit. My wife wasn't going to take it much longer. This is the part # WR60X10185.

Constant rattling noise during operation

possibly the "stirrer" motor - this is in the top and turns a metal reflecting ring to disperse the microwaves around the oven more evenly. About $70 on GE site for my oven.

GE SidexSide PSS26SGPASS Makes Humming Noise

GE refrigs have a variable speed evaporator fan motor that is controlled by a computer board on the back of the refrig. now the noise you are hearing is most likely the fan motor ramping up and down in speed (some of my customers say it sounds like a ghost). if its a continuous ramping up and down then the speed cotroller on the board is bad and must be replaced. if its just an occasional sound then thats normal and nothing to worry over.

Btw the reason the noise stops when the door opens is because the fan shuts off when you open the door.
