SOURCE: how to replace the LCD screen on the SGH-A737 samsung

To remove the slider mechanism, take out the 4 visible screws first (under the battery cover). Then on the back of the phone at the bottom, remove the 2 little rubber circles with a tiny flat head screwdriver to reveal 2 more screws, take those out. Take out the 2 screws on either side of the flex cable that is coming out just below the battery compartment. Next is the part that took me hours to figure out. Beneath where the battery sits is a long oval shaped thing (=======) <- looks something like that (sorry I don't have pictures). This is actually a sticker. Peel this up and remove the 2 screws under it (keep the sticker intact becase you will need to replace it later). This will detach the slider from the phone. Make sure to gently disconnect the flex cable from the mainboard first.

From there you can see more screws that will help you take apart the sliding part of the phone to access the lcd screen if you need to replace it (which is what I was doing). It's pretty easy from there to get everything else apart. Make sure when you disconnect the cables from the back of the LCD screen, that you flip up the little release tabs on the connectors first.

Screen has gone black, but phone still works

Your LCD could have loosen its connection with your cellphone's motherboard or you already got a bad LCD that needs replacement. Also, if there s no light from the lcd at all, you might also need to change the bulb.

Try to gently press both sides of the lcd, if screen will appear. If you can no longer make it appear by pressing at any sides, then you need to take it to a mobile repair center and have the faulty parts replaced.

How to replace lcd screen on Samsung SGH A737

hi
If you just want to replace the plastic cover on the phone which is on top of the lcd screen then get a small screw driver and lift off the plastic from the top where the ear piece is situated. The plastic cover will lift of quite easily and you then just replace the clear cover with a new one. Make sure that you are in a dust free area so that no dust is trapped between the plastic screen and the lcd screen. You should be able to buy the plastic screen covers from ebay for under £5
OR
the lcd screen? hmm is it blank or cracked ... probably I would chuck it for the new cells are free with a contract, but if you have to ...
contact the manufacturer and order and a screen and get a set of tiny screw drivers to open it .. some are tricky and you need to figure out where they hide the screws .

I need to replace lcd display on the samsung sgh-a737 phone.

I had the same problem with my son's phone. Purchased an LCD from Y'ALL online. Lot's of aggravation/frustration but I was able to replace it with much technical help from two of my co-workers. You need a lot of patience but it can be done. Basically you have to dis-assemble the entire phone including removing the slider. I took some digital photos along the way, however they are a bit blurry. I can do something up in powerpoint or adobe for instructions. But be aware.... even with this it is not an easy fix.
