It sounds to me like you have a defrost problem. Look on the back wall in the freezer about 3/4 of the way down. Do you have any frost build up? If so, for me to be able to help you futher I will need the model number of the refrigerator located on the inside of the refrigerator...

Ahh, freezer on top...right? In your case there is one of two things causing this problem. It's either a thermostat or the timmer. I suggest replacing both. The timmer is located in the refrigerator section and the thermostat in freezer behind back wall. lets start in freezer. remove ice maker and all food sheelves etc.... you will need a 1/4 inch nut driver (probaly) to get the back wall off. once wall is off you will see snowy frost ice build up all over the place. DO NOT CHIP at the ice with ANYTHING as you may punture the soft evaperator and JUNK your refrigerator. Go ahead and unplug the fridge. On the top right clipped to the evaporator is your defrost thermostat.(Its round and has two wires going to it)... Note: the black thing running under the evaporator is a heating element, one of the wires from the heating element probaly connects to the thermostat.(YOU PROBALLY WONT see the thermostat or element because theres ice all over the place) Now open fridge section take a knee and look up underneath the controlls. Do you see a round hole the size of a dime? Thats your timmer. take a flat head screw driver stick it in that hole and slowly turn to the right until you here a "click"(it will make small clicks when turning but a loud click when it hits the defrost cycle). Stop once you here that click, if you went and made it click twice go all the way around and do it again. NOW THE FUN PART.... Go plug your refrigerator in! look at the heating element, is it getting hot? Give it 60 seconds or so.... Hot yet? can you here or see the ice melting? At bottom of evap?

    Yes it's getting hot= replace timmer(part #215846602)

No it aint getting hot=replace thermostat(part#5303918202)

Note: You will need to eventually melt all that ice with a hair dryer. When you do... The above test will not work. Key is leaving thermostat in ice while testing. GOODLUCK!!!!!!!

FREEZER IS TO COLD, REFRIGERATOR TO WARM

if you can; find the vent(s) between the top and, bottom boxes (where the evaporator fan is located: closing these vents makes the freezer colder and, the refrigerator warmer, opening these vents the reverse is true.
