You will need to remove all of the 5/16 screws on both top and bottom panels make sure the power is turned off first the top larger panel will need to be removed first the the bottom. depending on what you are trying to achieve you can see the pan with just the top panel off. if you have a clogged drain you may just want to get a pvc coupling and some glue, cut the line and clear it that way. It is much easier and more effective.

Water condensation is missing the drain pan and getting my floor wet. How do you access the drain or the drain pan to check for leaks?

before you try to access the backside, check inside if the drain is not blocked and the water is not leaking from inside the fridge.
Normally you have to access everything else from the back, so you have to move the whole fridge forward. The leak pan is most of the time visible from the back, without removing the (under part) of the back plane.

BTU is leaking water from the inside.

Take the cover off the inside unit and look for the drip pan under the evaporator coil. It should have either one drain in the middle of the pan or a series of smaller drains along the back of the pan. The drain(s) is probably clogged up and causing the pan to overflow into your home. Also check the drain line on the outside wall where the refrigerant lines come through the wall for a blockage.

Every couple of days there is a puddle of water coming from unit..shut off water source and still leaked water?! HELP!

Is the hose from the freeze compartment in the drain pan? Or is the drain pan leaking? The unit is going into a defrost and that is where the water is coming from. It drains into a drain pan where it evaporates over time......Check the drain line and the drain pan. Is there ice in the bottom on the freezer maybe the drain is pluged inside and the excess is seeping out the door during defrost. Hope this helps....

My condensate drain pan is cracked inside the air handler in my attic. I am trying to find common reasons for this pan to crack and/or possible causes. The pan is plastic

If water was in it in the winter it could have froze.
If your pan has a heating element in it, and it didn't turn off. It could have the same effect as being in the Arizona sun. Or just old age.

Water leaking on inside - top shelves

The drain for the freezer is clogged. Unplug the frige and let it defrost. Pull the cover from the bottom front and note the drain pan. water should start draining into pan as the freezer defrosts. If Not the drain may be blocked. To access the drain remove icemaker then rear panel of freezer carefully, unplugging fan and ground wire. Look for drain in the middle under the coils. Look on outside back for the drain hose, this will help you locate the drain. Clear the drain of ice using hot water. You will hear it drain down the drain hose to the pan below.

I have a split system SAP-K181AHA, SAP-K241AHA that is leaking water from unit inside house.

Air conditioners wring moisture from the surrounding air that collects in a pan under the cooling coil in the inside unit.

Chances are that the condensate drain is plugged or the drain pan is plugged. Look for a hose that exits the inside unit and runs to a drain. You can follow it back to the drain pan of the A/C unit. If there is water sitting in the pan, then either the hose or pan or both are plugged.

Turn the unit off, get a small bucket and remove the drain tube. Catch the water in the bucket. Blow through the drain line until it's clear. If the thought of doing this is too repulsive, then use an air compressor or even a manual tire pump. Now check the drain pan in the unit for debris and remove as much as possible from the pan and the drain fitting.

Both the pan and drain line should be checked at the beginning of each cooling season.

Reinstall the drain tube and see how it works!

Water leaks in the house from under the unit. There is a drain pipe that leads to the outside but we dont know if that pipe gets clogged or needs service.

Open up the inside unit pannel where the drain pipe is and you'll see a drain pan where the condensation water runs out to the drain , clean the drain pan and the hole and then with air pressure from an air compressor blow the drain from inside to outside and go outside the house where the drain discharged and you'll see the clogh that came out from the drain . To keep the drain clean , pour a cup of bleach or clorox every 3 or 4 months through the drain and in the drain pan.
