Not charging if your zune player is completly dead an u plug it in to charge will anything on the screen pop up because mines completly dead an i plugged it in an it looks like its not charging cuz the screen is blank

the battery is not retaining any power. the only reason it works while it is plugged in is because there is power go directly to the battery

hey bro just solved the same issue =] plug your zune player into your laptop desktop ect. and activate the lock switch the charging symbol should pop on and let it charge and your set.

I would first allow the Zune to completely charge (the battery symbol should be full and green[i believe--it's been a while since I first got mine]).

I would then unplug the device and restart the computer. Once your computer has completely rebooted connect the device to the computer and see if it detects the device. It should work. Also you might try another USB port.

Please try to hold Back, Center and Left at the same time to restore the zune,

It sounds like you guys might be suffering from the Infamous zune new year bug. Let your Zune completely die (leave it for a few days if you have to). After doing this plug it into a computer or wall out let to charge. Leave it to charge for at least an hour. Come back and unpluge the zune and reconnect it to a different usb port if possible. Let it continue to charge.

Letting it die should fix the freeze and swapping ports during the charge will help the computer detect the zune as when their batteries are 100% dead they do not have enough power to say that they are there.

Hopefully this will help out one or two of you.

all you have to do is let it go dead and then wait to hook back up to sync cable it will start charging again and function like normal

i think i had the same problem i just left mine to charge for 2 days after letting it stay dead for about three, the zune sometimes "geeks out" ....hope i helped

my zune just went black screen and will not recarge or anything else.

man i have the same problem, i was listening to my black 120gb Zune & i just upgraded to firmware 3.0 & now this s*** wont turn on! i been using it 3 days fine, but now it just shut off like its completely dead. i have been charging it for hours & hours & it just doesnt even turn on or have a battery icon or anything! i have it plugged in now too. restarted the computer, everything.... i tried to restart it by pressing back & up... are there any other shortcuts i can try? computer doesnt detect it or ANYTHING!!! I have the same problem, it is completely frozen and will not turn on or off even after I charge it. It appears to be completley frozem, help!
