Question about Lands Phones

We have no phone service at our home, since disconnecting and then reconnecting comcast box. We have a new computer and was instructed to disconnect modem and power cord for ten seconds to allow reconfiguring. Perhaps I unplugged cords that should have remained plugged in. Internet service is fine. What do I do? Thank you, Peter

There should be a standard telephone cord that went from one of your telephone jacks to the comcast modem. that cord should be plugged in to the phone jack marked 1 on the back of the modem.

We have a five (5) phone on one line with Uniden. We have checked all the outlets and everything seems in order. We can not get a line on the system. Help

The following tips come website, hope this helps you. Question: What are things that I can check or do to get myphone working properly?

1.Make sure phone is not sharing an ac outlet with any other types of electronicequipment. 2. Make sure base ac adapter is not sharing a multi outlet plug. 3. Make sure phone cord is not plugged into a splitter, fax, computer or remoteanswering machine. 4. Check to see if the phone cord is plugged in properly. 5. Check to see if the AC Adapter has been properly plugged in, the outlet is onand working. 6. Make sure phone jack is working. 7. Phone cord needs to be plugged directly into phone jack to insure optimalperformance. 8. Make sure you are using the original ac adapter that came with the unit. (Itshould say Uniden on it) 9. Make sure proper battery is being used .(It should be the one that camewith the unit, or a new Uniden battery) 10. Make sure battery is installed and plugged in all the way.( It shouldclick in) 11. Move phone to a different location in the home. (Different phone jack) 12. Disconnect AC Adapter and reconnect it After 25 seconds. 13. Reset the Digital Security Code if applicable - instructions can be found inowner's manual if applicable 14. If nothing else has worked. You can see if a basic reset will work on thephone. A reset is done by following the below steps:
a. Disconnect Battery from handset(s)
b. Disconnect Phone Cord from wall jack
c. Disconnect Phone cord from base unit
d. Disconnect AC adapter from wall outlet
e. Allow to sit for 30 min
f. Reconnect Phone Cord to base
g. Reconnect Phone cord to wall jack
h. Reconnect AC Adapter to wall outlet
i. Reconnect Battery to handset until you click or feel the plug snap intoplace
j. Re-Register Handset by placing on main base (Resetting security code -manually) 15. Check to see if you are on tone dialing or pulse dialing. 16. If you are still experiencing problems please call USAcustomer service at 1-800-297-1023, please tell them that a basic systemreset has already been completed and what the issues are still.

Turn the router off.
Disconnect the electrical power from the router.

Reconnect the electrical power.
Turn the router on.

It should immediately "reboot" itself, and "talk" to your Comcast modem, and connect to the Internet.

Using home phone causes comcast wireless internet to disconnect

Wireless internet runs at 2.4ghz. Your portable phone is probably also 2.4ghz and is knocking out your internet connection when in use. Look for an 800mhz or 5.8ghz phone as a replacement.

No dial tone

Try disconnecting all units plugged into telephone service. ie. phones, computers, fax machine, sat. rec etc. Then take a known working wired phone to check for dial tone in each of the jacks. Plugging in each unit one at a time, you should be able to find your bad equipment. Disconnect bad equipment and reconnect remaining.

If your desktop is connected to the RCA box, then disconnect the desktop and replace it with the router... so the connection goes from the RCA box(cable modem) - actiontec router - desktop computer. You may also want run the setup disk that came with your router, now if you don't have one you have to manually configure the router using it's web based interface.

My XSA 975 telephone was accidently disconnected from the power outlet. When reconnected I found cannot dial out but can receive calls inward. I have tried disconnecting the AC adaptor and reconnecting...

I unplugged the AC Adaptor from the wall socket and left unplugged for an hour or so (a few minutes as per the trouble shooting advice page in the instruction manual did not work). I then reconnected the adaptor to the power and the phone returned to normal service.

Yes you can reconnect your router. Whoever did that at Comcast had no business doing that and should be reported and return their equipment back to Comcast asap. It could appear on the bill.

I have a Linksys modem on my Comcast router and it works fine. I don't let them touch it because it uses T-Zones at home service for phone use and it uses a special router to manage it since it has a sim card to run the phone line.

Vonage equipment can be used as well.

I wonder if they were trying to put their phone service onto your system?
