Bought used without remote. I need to set the time can I do that without a remote?

I don't think you can set the time without a remote on that model. You could find a universal remote that will let you access the menu and set the time, just do a little research first and make sure you find one that will be fully compatible with that model, as some universal remotes do not fully support some options, such as the menu on some models.

I just bought a used Memorex VHS player/recorder at a thrift store, Model MVR2031. I also have a remote MVD2015. Is there any way to make the remote control this player? If not, what remote do I need to...

If it doesn't work as is, then no. You'll have to purchase a Universal Remove, any basic model should work. Just make sure it has VCR Support.

Once you purchase a universal Remove Go Here is you need the codes to that VCR:

Probably you can't. That's a big pet peeve of mine with A/V equipment these days- so much of the control is by remote only and if it dies your machine is almost useless

Problem with old TV

The channel is almost always 3 or 4. Be sure you have the VCR connections correct. Just hook up the TV and VCR alone to start with and try both the VCR and DVD. Also the output of the VCR should show a blue screen.
