My Sony WALKMAN mp3 player won't charge

My Sony WALKMAN mp3 player had been working fine until I needed to charge it. The screen reads ''Low Battery: Charge Now'' but as soon as I plug it in, it reads Full and never actually charges. The device is still able to download songs, and it shows up on my computer's USB status, but it just won't charge. I find it hard to believe that the battery is dead, because I just bought the device over a month ago.

Wow. This is really good info! The only problem is that my player is completely out of juice and won't even turn on. Plus, the model # is NWZ-E436F. Will that process still work for that model, anyway?

You might want to check these two outputs which are the charging flag and complete charging flag terminals.

Pin 67 (XCHG_STAT1) Charging flag output terminal "L" active
Pin 68 (XCHG_STAT2) Charge completion flag output terminal "L" active

It might do if the battery is dead goto page 6 of the manual and it will tell you how to get it out it should be at 3.7V test this with an AVOmeter (Multimeter) if there is not life there then you will need a new battery.

    Good Luck !

You will need to get hold of the 3.7 V battery for this unit and then perform the test. You will get no voltage unless you have a good battery.

Remove any USB extension cords you use. I had the same problem, which was solved immediately when I connected the players USB cable directly to the USB port.

My sony walkman NWZ-E443 shows power source battery 0.why?

Ifthe rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

I've been using my Sony Walkman NWZ-S615F.it seems like my player won't connect to my pc the same one I've always used with it. It ran out of battery and when I connect it it switches on but just says...

The same thing happened with my s616f and I just fixed it today. Connect your walkman to the computer to charge it then when the blue screen pops up heres gonna be that blue line going across the screen(the thing that shows that its loading) then while its loading press and hold the back/home and the option/pwr off buttons until it turns on. Hope it works:)

My walkman will not charge. I left it on charge

Hi joanna,
It is probably not turning on due to extremely low battery. Have you been using it for quite a few years? Then there may be a problem with the battery. But before that, please try connecting the player to another USB port on your computer, or removing any USB extensions except what SONY provided, or upgrading your USB driver. If nothing works, I'm afraid you'll have to refer it to a service center.

Nwz-s515 won`t charge

Check for a reset option somewhere in the software, if after reset (or if there is no reset option) it still does not charge then the battery has died. You can call Sony for repairs, it may be under warranty still. If it needs repair head over to Sony's website for repair at:

Starts up to "Walkman" Screen then turns off

(Re)installed the 1.1 firmware update, and clicked the "format data area" box. It works fine however it of course deleted all my mp3s. I still don't know why it broke down but I figure it just doesn't work well when it shuts down suddenly due to "low battery".
