The EPA thinks that it is very bad. Really It will stop when all the freon gets out of it about 12 to 14 ozs. it won't take long. No more than it is it won't hurt anything.

Unplugged fridge 9 months and now it doesnt cool at all

it's 20 years old, replace it,don't waste a penny into that machine, most likely you have a problem in the sealed system compressor and freon so don't waste any of your time or money.good luck,if you say the compressor and fans are running and it's not getting cold one of the lines could have rotted out and the freon gas leaked out,you can remove the back inside wall of the freezer and look at the evaporator coil,if it's running fine you should see an even frost pattern covering the coil,if you only see frost where the lines connect to the coil you have a freon leak but i wouldn't even waste my time doing that on this machine just repace it.

LG LRBC20512SW - line icing up to compressor - loosing gas

You may be able to hear the leak but the chances you'll see it are slim to none. Also if it's a bad leak the freon could all be gone now. Usually when a unit is low on gas the compressor will short cycle. Otherwise your unit might just need a good thorough defrost. If the compressor is running and not short cycling my money's on the defrost.

Just opened my fridge freezer and its stopped working. In fact it was warm from the heat created by the light. What could be wronge with it

IF YOUR FRIDGE FREEZER IS OLD SAY BY 10 OR MORE YEARS, IT COULD BE A FREON LEAK, CHECK THE BACK OF YOUR FRIDGE AND SEE IF THERE IS CONDENSATION ON THE COILS, IF THERE IS NOT CONDENSATION THEN YOU COOLING PUMP COULD BE BAD OR FREON LEAK.

I have an old Icebox and I was cleaning it and gas or some type of air started coming out of a hole in the back...what is coming out? Do I need a new fridge?

I'm going to guess you broke a freon line when you were cleaning it. It might have had a spot that was almost rusted through and when you cleaned it you knocked off what little protection it had left. If you weren't being rough with your cleaning, then chances are it would have blown through pretty soon by itself. To repair it, the freon line will have to be repaired and new freon and a drier installed. Since you said it was an "old" refrigerator, I don't think it would be cost effective to have it repaired. Depending on the availability of used units in your area, you could probably pick up one 4 or 5 years old for cheaper than the repair. Depending on the age(say 10 years old for arguments sake), you will have put around 100 bucks into it...but still have a 10 year old compressor, thermostat, etc. I picked up a 4 year old top mount for $150 a year ago.
Hope this helps, and remember the repair vs. replacement cost analysis is just my opinion

My air condition is not working

first check your fuses and any relays sometimes you have multible relays that are the same in a fuse box that you can switch around but i would bet you have a leak either in your compressor or in your line if the clutch is not kicking on and off or running all the time when you turn it on thats because your freon has leaked out the system is sealed freon does not go bad if there is no pressure in the system it will just blow warm air your question is vague so if your blower is not blowing bad blower motor or a fuse if warm not getting cold your system has a leak if you have not broke the system you can try stop leak 2 cans to seal a leaky compressor compressor could be bad if it wont spin noisy clutch could be bad need new compressor but if a leak after stop leak add the right amount or r-134a 2 to 3 cans if the compressor kicks on on the first can of stop leak or freon your system did leak down and you hope the stop leak fixes it but first check all your lines are tight and that the freon is not leaking from the high or low pressure ports the valve can leak sometimes make sure your caps are on take some spit after you add freon back into your system see if your spit blows a bubble if it does replace or tighten the valve. a few things to check start with power fuses then add a can of freon if you have power now clutch engagement if you add and kicks on there is the reason a leaky system it will all leak back out in a day or several days... thats why you can add the stop leak things you can try or take it to the shop and pay someone some $$$$$

My ac wont work

Must be Air-Condition System Lines/ Hoses leaking R12 Freon (gas).

MAYBE THE PULLY HUB BEARINGS FAILED OR
DUE TO VERY LOW R12 FREON (GAS ) will not work.
Because there is a switch in the receiver/dryer prevent AC from working when low R12 Freon present, to protect the system & compressor damages.

You must fix the leaks, before recharging it.

They must **** the old (residue) gases from the system & lines / hoses...... & stay in the vacuum pump 30 minutes to proof no more leaks.

Recharge some oil for the old type R12 Freon gas.

Before recharge it to 62-67 psi R12 Freon

See the web site like www.youtube.com/video site to see How they service & repair air-condition system?
Put the question to their search window.

This is the question u should.
