Question about Eureka 5892AVZ Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Handle gets very hot on my 5892BVZ vac

I have experienced the same problem with my vac and a local service center for Eureka states that there have been no recalls from Eureka for this vac. According to the service center It appears that the handle with switch needs to be replaced.

Had exactly the same problem with my upright Eureka Model 5893 bagless. Eventually, the handle would get hot, and finally it just quit. When handle was disassembled, the wires were melted and it was toast. Ordered a switch after talking to several repair men. Talked to Eureka, too, and they were absolutely no help. Cheap wiring and switch made in China. Good luck trying to find a switch. vacuum-depot.com has switches, so you might try there.

We just moved in - the house is about 9 years old. I have a Eureka Mega Boss central vac - looks like model # is CV20220. 12.4 amps, 120 volts. Can't figure out what type of bags I need. Can you...

Well, for this unit you will need any of the following bags,

Eureka genuine Part# 90610
Eureka replacement (Central vac bag)
another genuine bag style called CV-1, and/or CV-2
Kenmore Central vac bags

Most of the bags there are available at your local vacuum shop, and sometimes even Sears. The Kenmore central vac bag is, can and will fit your Eureka Mega Boss. Prices range on these bags anywhere from $12-$20 for packages of 3. Generally you will replace a bag once every 3-4 months.

Good luck,

MY EUREKA WORLD VAC ROLLERS ARE NOT SPINNING. THE LIGHT IS ALSO BURNED OUT. IS THERE A CONNECTION BETWEEN THESE TWO EVENTS?
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Some of the Eureka brushrolls have a sensor in the brushroll that indicates that the brush is moving and the sensor and the light are linked together – you may have a bad brushroll – to check that you need to remove the brushroll, stand it on end and spin it freely, if it does not spin the bearings could be bad or needs to be replaced with a new brushroll and a new belt. The belt change is every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning. . If you need further help please refer to a local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Will not start ...I get a momentary flicker of power about every 3rd or 4th time that I flick on the power switch. Outlet is fine / Plug looks good / cord looks good / I see no obstructions ........Would appreciate any helpful thoughts ....Trying to get Mom's Eureka 2961AVZ back up and running. Thanks

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds to me that you may have a bad switch or the worst scenario would be a bad motor and or armature, and the armature is almost the cost of the new motor, so I would replace the motor, but check the switch and the cord because sometimes the cord looks good but there might be broken wires inside the cord that you can’t see. If the vacuum is less than one year old the motor would be covered under the factory warranty if one year and maybe the switch as well. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Replacing Switch & cord on OLD Eureka upright 403B...
Posted by volunteer2 on May 09, 2008
I have ordered and received what seems to be the correct switch and replaced the belt, but cannot figure out how to get to the switch. I also need to shorten or replace the cord because it is severely worn where it bends onto the winding posts. This old vac worked well until recently and is the property of our church and we can't afford to replace it right now.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.

It sounds to me that you have a handle switch / cord and if you shorten the cord you need to also purchase a cord protector. Usually it may be covered by screws or a pop rivet and you would have to drill out the pop rivet and the switch cover will come off and then replace it with new pop rivets or screws and use the cord protector if you shorten the cord nut I would not advise it because the longer the cord the more vacuuming you can do without going from plug to plug. Suggest that you check with you local vac dealer in your area or use some suggestion I will give you listed below.
So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Need replacement part, maroon cover top handle of Z570 cordless

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Not knowing the brand name and you do have the model # Z570 but I would suggest that you contact your local vac dealer and they should be able to tell you where to get it or they can order it for you, you need to supply the brand name and model # in order to get the part. As an example, you can use the Eureka website as: (if the brand name is Eureka)

Eureka 5892BVZ ON/OFF switch burnt

COUNT ME IN ON A CLASS ACTION IF ANYONE KNOWS A GOOD LAWYER.
Here's my story, posted on other solutions here, especially on the Model 5893; many people with burned wiring and switches. Major fire hazard imo! Okay, here's the skinny on my upright Eureka POS vacuum:
Had a problem with my upright Eureka Model 5893 bagless kinda starting and stopping. Eventually, the handle would get hot, and finally it just quit. When handle was disassembled, the wires were melted and it was toast. Ordered a switch after talking to several repair men. Talked to Eureka, too, and they were absolutely no help. Cheap wiring and switch made in China. Good luck trying to find a switch. vacuum-depot.com has switches, so you might try there, but make sure you get the 3-prong switch (same switch used on Eureka's Genesis). It is Part #27871.
