Question about Epson Stylus Pro 4800 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Paper misfeed I have been using my 4800 for more than two years without any major problems. Now it is having constant misfeed issues with letter size paper, regardless of weight or type/manufacturer. If printingmultiple images, every print is followed by 2-3 blank pages before a page is grabbed properly and recognized as the correct size. In addition, every so often, the paper jams requiring that it be removed, or I get a paper out warning and nothing prints. I'm guess rollers are dirty or damaged but haven't a clue where to start.... I would appreciate any help

It's horrible. I have the exact same problem. I have a bad feeling since I had a stylus pro 4000 before the 4800 and it did the very same thing. I'm starting to think it might be because of the computer that's attached to it.

I have the same issue. The only solution so far is to run another stock, Epson enhanced matte upside down to try and clean the feed mechanism. This works for a short period of time.

Can somebody help My canon ir 2016 is showing change paper size while all setting are correct

dear >>> every region have its default paper size, for example in the middle east we are using A4 as a default size while the majority devices that come from USA are using the letter size, as a result you have to change the paper default size to match your needs .you can simply do that by right click on your printer go to printer proprieties .

I have a Sharp Al-2040cs when I turn it on the misfeed indicator is blinking. I checked it there no misfeed paper or piece of paper inside. How can I fix this problem?

The MISFEED Indicator blinks when a MISFEED has occurred. Remove the misfed paper referring to the the description of MISFEED REMOVAL beginning on page 65 of the pdf Manual at:

http://files.sharpusa.com/Downloads/ForHome/HomeOffice/PrintersFaxMachines/Manuals/cop_man_AL2030_AL2040CS.pdf

When the MISFEED Indicator is blinking you should look closer at the paper feed area (see page 66 of the PDF). You may need to remove the paper tray to find any remnants of paper. If after closing the side cover the light does not stop blinking you will need to follow through as per the illustrated instructions.

Remember after removing jammed paper, you need to press the clear key to clear the MISFEED error.

If after doing all this the error signal has not cleared, power down the printer; unplug from the power supply; let rest 5 - 10 minutes; plug back i to power supply; turn printer on and see if this resolves issue.

Trust this is helpful. Please vote. :)

Misfeed when attempting to make a copy - Ricoh FT5535

If you are a technical person you may want to remove the tray from the machine (pull all the way out, tilt upwards, and pull.) to clean the rollers. Once the trays are removed you will see a set of three rollers for each tray. They can be removed and cleaned or cleaned directly on the machine. They may have build up dust on them preventing feed. Reinstall the trays the same way they came out but in reverse steps.

Then:

1. Pull offending tray all the way out and remove paper.
2. Unlock the side guides and make sure they move freely
3. Set about 100 sheets of NEW paper for now and adjust the side guides and the end fence. The end fence must be against the paper (touching) and the side guides must NOT be too tight agains the paper as this will prevent the tray from lifting.
4. Make sure the paper size dial is set to the paper SIZE and ORIENTATION.
5. Close tray and test.

Let us know what happens. In the worst case it could be a Magnetic clutch malfunction

I dont get prints when I give print command but when I use the

What does it say in the display?..load paper plain letter....load MP feeder? I think the problem is the following. On the menu right arrow over to the paper menu. Hit select...it then gives you sub menus...paper type...paper size. Go to paper size...specify the tray your using...most likely tray one. Hit select and see what size paper its set on. I'm assuming your trying to print on letter size. If it says something else like legal...executive..A4...change it in the menu to letter. If it changes to letter hit select to save the setting. Now if it won't change in the menu pull open the paper tray. The back paper guide is real sensitive on these machines. You have to make sure the geen/blue tab on the back is set exactly into the letter size slot on the tray. That slot will be slightly bigger than the rest of the teeth you see on the bottom of the tray. If you have it set right then there should only be the 2 bottom tabs extending on the outside left side of the tray. Those tell the printer what size paper is in the tray. If theres 3 sticking out...you still don't have it set right for letter size. Okay..the last thing. Something that goes bad on those machines is the tray card. Its where those 2 tabs on the side of the machine I mentioned interface with the printer. They can go bad. You can either replace that card..or trick it. To trick it go back to the paper menu...paper size tray 1. Open the tray...and close it again. The setting on the screen will change to another size...do that again or until it changes to letter size. The leave it alone. You may have to do that everytime you add paper an reinsert the draw unless you replace that card. Hope this helps!

Misfeed Indicator light is on - there are no jamed copies present. Other solutions recommended. Thank you

Make sure that there isn't any little piece of paper caught near a sensor. Often when a jam is removed, the operator rips the paper, leaving some if it there inside. If it's near a sensor, you'll get a constant jam indication. Use a flashlight to check for it.

Paper a misfeed

not sure if you are talking about two papers jammed in different locations or at different times?

first thing would be to clean the tires that pick up the paper, if too smooth then replace. sounds like a timing issue.paper getting stuck halfway in the fuser c(if no other paper jammed) can be Seperation is off causing the paper to rise onto the drum creating a time lapse, paper tansport belt (in the machine after the drum) is not turning ok, or as simple as wrong size paper Letter in machine but says Legal 8 1/2 x 14

Minolta keeps jamming

Hi Daryl, what does the paper look like? Is there a "nick" in the leading edge of the paper or any signs of damage to the paper? Remove it carefully an look, but be careful cause the toner isn't fused yet, so it will get on your hands and clothes.
