Speakers must be selected on the front panel of the rcver, and tape ll monitor must be "off", or at least have an outboard processor attached to the tape ll loop. "A" or "B" doesn't matter, but one must be selected to hear program material. If all connections are correct and it still won't work, consider that the output stage has failed....accordianman

What does the word simulated mean when you press the button on the pioneer surround model vsx-9700s ,because i can use my eq . then

It phases the stereo by a few milliseconds so you get the real sound and then the same sound a few milliseconds later. It gives the effect of a sort of echo, to give spatial awareness to your brain to trick it to think you are in a big venue.

You say in another post you have distortion. You need to test with different speakers, or swap the left to the right and see if the distortion follow? It may also be that a component on the particular feature is faulty and need replacing, ab IC or capacitor.

No sound out of the pioneer vsx-1121-k

Hello,
Try removing all the speaker and the HDMI connections; then use a headphone to listen to music from the tuner or a CD in stereo mode. Better in direct mode. If you hear your music correctly the receiver could be working correctly. If no music is heard, you may need to have it repaired professionally.
If you can hear music, connect the main FL & FR speakers and verify you can hear music that way, without the headphone connected.
If you can hear music that way, connect the center and rears. Try a mode that uses all channels to verify all sound channels are working.
Then, and only then start adding your HDMI connections.
Good luck

Connect pioneer vsx-9700s receiver to tech.equalizer??

If there is no rca connection on the back labeled something like "external processor" then it could probably go through a tape loop. At least that's the way it used to be done last millenia. ;)

Power sub woofer is not working on my pioneer vsx-81txv everything is working all the speakers except the power sub connection at the back all i can hear is the hissing sound when i try to connect the sub...

Hissing? How loud? A sub isn't even capable of making high frequency sounds at normal volumes.

The Pioneer manual would tell you how to enable and test the subwoofer output.

If new unit, don't waste your time, sounds like a faulty "Sound Card". possibly a slight hairline crack which only shows up when it warms up, yet after a few mins switched off, cools reconnects and so plays?

Pioneer vsx-519 no sound from center and surround

Make sure that the sound field/programme you have selected is dolby digital not stereo.(On the amp)
You also need to check on the display that is says DIGITAL not ANOLOUGE, as only a digital input, Optical fibre cable, HDMI, COAX will be a digital signal.
If you are using red and white rca connectors, it is not going to work, as this is an Anolouge signal.
