Leaking TDA 1503UC/01

I have taken the back of iron off, disconnected the wires, and unscrewed the two screws holding top of iron to base. Beyond this, I am unable to seperate base plate from top. I am guessing that the top of handle needs to be removed exposing a screw that holds base in place. The purpose of disassembly is to inspect parts in hope of finding source of leak.
I have spoken with small appliance repair shop. They said it was not fixable and suggested we buy a new iron. This is nice iron as it has motor steam function. Can you help with instructions and maybe later with parts?
