Please clarify something for me, after installing drivers, system reboots, and you have no POST information or startup screens at all?

Where can I find a driver/adapter for Advent X19W LCD Monitor?

Goto device manager , uninstall the card. go into control panel and check that the driver is uninstalled from the programs list. Swich of the pc for a minute or two then reboot Windows updares does not download drivers for graphics cards so will not install or reinstall the driver that is causing the issue, 307? Users forget to uninstall from program manger in control panel which is why the card keeps reinstalling with the undesired driver.
Please let me know what happens

Hmmmm... did you install software for your monitor? Did the Hanns-G come with any software to install?

Maybe you need to install the correct driver of your video card. But first update your motherboard driver, if you have CD/DVD utilities enlclosed in your computer from the vendor then you should reinstall that in series installation. after that installation restart the system and then install the updated driver or the current CD/DVD utilities of your geforce 8600 GT and again restart the system after installation. and then set the monitor display to the required display of your games.

Resolution problem on LCD

Are you saying that when you try to change the resolution it does not display 1440x900?

I would suggest downloading the drivers for the monitor as well as the latest drivers for your graphics card.

I'm guessing you used a different graphics card before now - use ATI's driver uninstaller to remove the current driver and any other drivers before installing the latest driver from ATI. They have a program made to remove their drivers that you're supposed to use every time you change cards or update a driver. Shouldn't be hard to find.

If that doesn't work, come back and we'll try the next thing.

Out of scn range

This simply means that the resolution you have set is beyond the display capabilities of the monitor.

If you can see a visible picture on the monitor, it is likely that you either have the "Generic vga/svga monitor" driver installed or an improper driver.

This can be easily resolved by simply going to the website for your monitor's manufacturer and downloading the right driver for your model of monitor and install it.

If you can't find the website for your Monitor's manufacturer, please post BRand and model info here and I will try to direct you there.

If you DON'T have a viewable display this is how to solve it.

When booting up the pc you'll see POST information flash on the screen or a company logo once this flashes off then push and hold <F8> and you should get a startup screen with several options

The one we want is "Start in Safe mode" select that
Once you have booted up into safe mode, open the display properties screen and change your resolution to something a bit lower (Almost all modern monitors can display 800X600 at a refresh of 75Mhz) so this may be a good place to start. Apply your changes and reboot.

Now you should be able to adjust your display settings to either the maximum displayable setting for your monitor. If you should change the setting and the monitor becomes unviewable (be careful not to push any keys and wait) the screen should change back after 12 seconds unless you confirm the change.

Hope this helps you,

Most like the sound card you have is not compatible with Windows Vista. You need to check the manufacturers website to see if there is any patch for Windows Vista

Installing AGP video card

Don't boot with the monitor connected to the card. You need to let it boot into windows and install the drivers for it first. Once you do that, shutdown and restart with the monitor plugged into it and it should work.
