Question about Mackie SRM-450 System

1 Answer

Humming speakers My Mackie speakers hum as soon as they are powered on, even if the sound board is on also. When I turn the signal down on the back of the speakers, the humming goes away, but it almost mutes the speaker... is this a signal problem or maybe a grounding problem?

If you disconnect the signal leads and the hum is away, it's probably a groundloop problem, or your equipment is generating the hum.
If it does not go away, the amps are defective

How to fix NS-PCS20 2.0 computer speakers that hum static?

Humming is usually caused by a bad capacitor on the power supply board. Look at the caps on the board, any that are puffed up, burned or leaking (brown at the base) need replacing. Make sure you get the EXACT same capacitors and pay attention to the orientation so you get them back in properly, if you dpn't you will fry them soon as you apply power to the board.

Mackie dl1608 and Bose l1 humming

This sounds like a ground loop.
Make sure that everything in your signal chain (mixer and anything that plugs into the mixer, and the L1®) are all plugged into the same power source (power bar).

Low independence light comes on and a humming sound what is causing this?

Humming from subs? If from inside amp, your experiencing a problem with a driver board. It makes transistors latch on and loads down the transformer, causing light to come on. And vibrations "hum" from transformer.

Our mixture MACKIE CFX 20 give a humming sound as the clip light always on, but this does not happen before, tell me how to stop this

You say the clip light is always on, as the only clip lights on this mixer are on the effects channel and the master output and you do not say which is on there are a number of possibilities. You may have the effects turned up too far as this should not be showing, just maybe blinking, turn them down on efx2 on all strips as well as on the effects processor and see if this helps. If it does you may be able to find where the hum is coming from by gradually increasing each until you find it.

If you are getting the clip on the main mix master and you are not being deafened and the humming sound is coming from the speakers not the mixer you may have a subsonic signal getting into the mixer. Disconnect all inputs and if this cures it go through until you find where it is getting in and sort that.

If the humming is coming from the mixer it is possible that the smoothing caps on the PSU are dying, you do not say if you are getting normal sound as well as the humming from the mixer.

When asking for help please try to give as much information as possible

Altec Lansing GT5051, I'm hearing a humming noise from the speakers as soon as I turn them on. The humming noise is heard even if speakers are not connected to source. If I try and play music with...

Sounds like a problem in the speakers' internal power supply, maybe a faulty capacitor. Speakers need to be looked at by a technician, or replaced with a new set.

Humminf sound from subwoofer

Most humming sounds in speakers is due to electrical currents or wifi signals nearby the speakers.

Do you have any electrical cables near the speakers? Do you have any wifi device near the speakers?

If so move them out/away and see if there is any difference.

Humming problem

This could be a grounding problem, it might change if you plug it in elsewhere or it might be where you live.

Humming sound

oVERSEA'S ...thats just wrong... rca parts are availble all over the place. does the sound eminate from the speakers? DOES it go away when you turn it down.. if so two possible outcomes. speakers or something called ssb board which is the main signal or main board in this set. but the audio amp and all audio cuircits are on this board. this board is however technician replaceable only.. authorized technicians have a special computer interface used to transfer settings from old to new board. there are cases where if the humming is coming from the back which might mean flyback or a coil vibrating. is it a lound hum or whine? o buy the way i get most of my rca parts at the shop from union electronics.
