If you have enabled wireless security on the router, make sure you are typing the correct network key. If you still can't connect, try to disable the wireless security first. If you don't know how to disable it, you may reset the router by presssing the reset button at the back for 30 seconds then unplug the power for another 30 seconds. You might as well disable any firewall on your computer like McAfee, Norton, Zone Alarm and the likes.

I got a problem in connecting my samsung galaxy GT-7500 to sitecom extender 300N .. I have tried to change the IP address but it doesn't work with me . Any help plz?

Which modes are you trying to use this Sitecom? If you have the Sitecom as your Access Point (AP Mode), then you would need a LAN connection to your internet gateway (DSL, Cable Modem, etc). I didn't see any LAN hook up so I assume you are trying to use it as a wireless repeater. So you need to configure the unit differently. The 3rd mode is called Bridge mode. Again, you need to have a LAN hook up to your local network with a router or network switch.
Because your Tablet is connecting to the Sitecom okay, which mean that you either have the Sitecom setting for AP mode or Bridge mode. And the reason it didn't give you access to internet because there is no internet gateway connection to the Sitecom (LAN). I hope this answer your question (or confuse you totally).

Losing network connection

CONTINUAL DISCONNECTION OF WIRELESS CONNECTION
There are a few things that can cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router. 1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move the wireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locate the wireless router higher up. 2. Have you secured your wireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change the default password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID, and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC address filtering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s to connect to your wireless router. 3. You could be getting interference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers and computers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, better still connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). 4. Check the channels of the wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcast channel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currently used but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interference with your wireless router from other wireless routers and access points in your area.

I have a new ipad and it is not picking up the wireless router even though it shows full strength.

When you select the connection on the Wireless Network Scanning. Turn it OFF and ON again.

If it shows on the network and is connected.

Just click on it and then on FORGET DEVICE.

Rescan... by ON and OFF again.

Try to put the correct password for router access.
It is probably an incorrect password for granting access to the wireless network.

If it shows on other computers and the network is up and working. You should have no problem.

If the Ipad is not detecting the router, then the problem is on how the network is set up.

You will then have to work with the router settings.

Hope it helps.

God Bless You!!

I bought a ruiter sitecom to make a wireless

ou need to configure your router.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Click on WAN settings and set those settings as your internet service provider settings.
Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router.
Clickon wireless settings enable wireless then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router.
Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Sitecom WL-342 Wireless Router won't access internet.

Hello,

Make sure there is a network cable going from your ADSL modem into the WAN connection of the router.

If the ADSL modem is wireless, then it is also a router in whihc case you will want to bypass the WL-342 all together.

Thanks,

Pat

I have a new Sitecom 341 wireless N router setup and working fine with other laptops in the home. My dated acer travelmate can see the modem and reports excellent connections, but is not serving pages in...

Theres a few things to try here 1) the acer may not like the type of wireless security you are using , WPA needs to have the correct hardware to work - log into the router and remove the wireless security and see if it will now connect - if it does, try putting the security back on and see if now connects - if not, you may need to change the security to WEP or use MAC Filtering 2) It may be that a firewall is blocking access to your network - try disabling the firewall 3) You may need to remove the wireless profiles on the PC and then reconnect and re-enter the security password - read here on how to do that http://mgmcc.forumotion.net/networking-tutorials-f17/removing-an-existing-wireless-profile-t109.htm

I am running qwest DSL through a Linksys wrt160N that is brand new. it will work next to the router, but not upstairs or in the basement which is less than 15 meters. The upstairs bedroom is directly above...

If you have concrete floor slabs the the wireless signal from the Linksys will have a difficult time penetrating the floor slabs.
The wireless card in the computers will show a low signal strength.
Try altering the Linksys aerial to a horizontal position and also positioning the Linksys to another location.

You could be getting interference form other wireless sources, check the wireless channels of other wireless router/access points in your area. If they are broadcasting on the same channel then configure your Linksys to broadcast on an unused channel or one that has the weakest signal strength.
If none of these methods work then I would suggest you run network cables from the Linksys to upstairs and downstairs and not use the wireless connection.
If network cabling option is not an option then consider extending the wireless range with wireless repeater access points.
