Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

Memory Card problems

I have a Canon Powershot A75 that has been having problems with its memory card. If i put a memory card in it will not turn on. However, as soon as I take it out the power goes on easily. If i even open the memory card area the camera shuts off. I've tried multiple memory cards, but none have worked.

Re: Memory Card problems

Remove the card and look inside the card slot of the camera to see if there are any bent pins. If you do find bent pins, you can try to bend them straight (it will be tough). If you do, DO NOT use a metal object. Use plastic or wood only.

How much for memory card canonpowershot a75

That depends on the size and speed of the card(s) you choose. The A75 uses CompactFlash Type 1 cards. You don't really need a fast card.

Memory card is not locking , i mean if we push memory card inside then it is not locking

Well, it's the mechanical problems inside the Memory Card holder.
There's nothing you can do here, except take it to the Canon service center for repair.

Memerory card error

the memory card may need to be reformatted. if you have an external card reader, plug it in, right click (in windows) and select format.

you might be able to format it through the camera if you don't have a memory card. connect the camera to the computer, and treat it like an external card reader.

if reformatting doesn't work, sounds like the card went bad.

Memory card capacity for my older canon digital camera

Does you camera use CF cards?
If so the may work but some of the newer high tech CF cards are made for newer cameras.

It may be worth a shot to try the 2GB card and if it does not work, sell to someone who uses those.

Memory card error with new memory card

Hi there, welcome to FixYa.

Let's work on the camera first.
1) Turn the camera off and remove the battery and the card.
2) Put the battery back in without the card and turn it on.
3) Turn the camera off and insert the CF card.
4) Turn the camera back on again.
See if that takes the message away.

If it doesn't leave me a comment and we go to step 2.
If it does, thanks for coming to FixYa.

Hope this helps!

Canon Powershot A75 faulty memory card slot

It's possible a pin is bent on the connector in the camera. A good eye and a good flashlight and you may be able to confirm.
