It turned on at one point, and did not use it for about 2 years, because I did not have the usb cable. I bought a new one, and connected it to the computer so that it can recharge and I could download music. But it does nothing at all. Computer does not even recognize it , I don't get the icon at all. RCA opal 4g mp3 player - bought about 2 years ago - the power/transfer(?) cord is usb on one end and mini plug on the other end. My 2 computers do not read it anymore to charge the unit or to download...

if its mini usb then you can get that cord just about anywhere if its a custom cable then you'll have to goto the rca website and order one from them

How do I download Pictures to MP3?

A generic procedure is :-

  1. Turn on your computer. Plug the USB cable that came with your MP3 player into an open USB port on your computer.
  2. Step 2 Turn off your MP3 player and plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port located on top of the player. Turn on the player.
  3. Step 3 On your computer, right-click the pictures you want and select "Copy" from the menu that appears.
  4. Step 4 Double-click the "My Computer" icon on your computer. Double-click "MP3 player " or ' MP3 Device" in the "My Computer" window.
  5. Step 5 Open the "Pictures" folder. Right-click and select "Paste" from the menu that appears.
  6. Step 6 Let the files copy. Click the "Safely Remove Device" icon located on the left side of the Start toolbar at the bottom of your screen.
  7. Step 7 Click "Safely Remove USB Storage Device." Wait for a message to appear that says it is safe to remove the device, and then unplug the USB cable from your computer and your MP3 player.
Hope i helped you.

GPX MW-3847 MP3 Player How do i disable write protection

If you have an mp3 player like the one shown in the picture, then just flick the hold switch on, then flick it again to off. This should work. It worked for me.

My ilo doesn't turn on when the usb cable is connected to it

This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

I can't turn it on and i don't know how to charge it up. I don't know how to downloads songs.

I guess you are new to the world of Mp3 Players. These are the basic accessories which belong to any Mp3 Player Box Pack.
1. Mp3 Player.
2. USB Cable/Charger
3. Manual.
A USB Cable is some thing like this.
the bigger end of the cable goes to the USB Port of the computer, and the smaller end of the cable goes to the Mp3 Player. This process is for charging the Mp3 player as well as loading any songs in to the player. After you insert these into the Mp3 player, windows opens the player, and then you can load music files into it. I hope this solves your problem.

Pb for my sandisk m230 mp3 player

Same thing happened to me... try this...
1) disconnect all cables
2) turn power on (hold menu button until screen lights up)
3) Press "menu"
4) scroll down to "settings"
5) scroll down to "USB"
6) select "MSC" (default is probably auto detect - which I think there's a conflict with)
7) turn power off (holding the menu button down)
8) connect USB to computer and hopefully start loading files

I bought 2 of the 512 models, one didn't work... so I took it back and had to buy a 2gig model... got home and it didn't work! I tried the above for the new one and at least the computer recognizes it! Everything seems to work fine...for now...
