Question about Panasonic AG-HVX200 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

At random intervals my hvx camera will vibrate as though some gears are trying to be engaged. I am not using the zoom when this happens. it seems to happen when the camera has been in use for 15 minutes or more. The odd thing is that it will also stop vibrating after 10minutes or so. It has been doing this on and off for the past few months. Any ideas?

This is a common problem with Sony cameras. They fixed some of them for free for awhile. You should complain, complain, and complain some more to Sony.

It could be a bad battery. Try using AC power or getting a new battery. What is the temperature. if it's cold try bringing the camera slowly up to room temperature.

Zoom error on J27 fuji camera - brand new can take photos but can't use zoom feature

There is a problem with the gear system for the zoom feature, most likely a damaged gear, or something tricky. If it's still under warranty, take it back for a replacement, or send it off to repair. You have to disassemble the entire camera to fix something inside the lens assembly, and they usually just replace the whole assembly, from what I understand, and it's pricey. If the unit isn't under warranty, or they won't cover it with this problem (sometimes they will say it's neglect or abuse to the lens assembly), you can try to push the zoom button and gently pull to try to help the gears engage, if they're just stuck, or some sand, etc., got inside the gears. But first, try to blow any dirt or sand, etc., out of the lens assembly with some compressed air. If that doesn't work, place the unit flat on something soft, and hit the zoom button while you try to lift and gently twist the lens. Do this a few times, but beware that you might do further damage, so go easy on it. If this doesn't work, the unit will have to be serviced. Get an estimate first- that can get pricey, and sometimes it's just better to get a new camera. Hope you get lucky and get it working.

Sony 18-70 kit lens vibrates badly

This is a lens problem, the AF motor of the lens is trying to engage the gears. Sometime it works, sometimes it does not... It happened to my sigma 70-300. The only solution is to have it repaired. If under warranty it should be free, if not.... might be cheaper to buy a new lens.

Dont know how to use the harddrive with camera

Make sure you turn your other settings in the menu while in camera mode to ext, both or chain. Ext. mode, means pushing record on the camera makes the hard drive record, but not to tape, Both means that both tape and hard drive will record, Chain means when you run out of recording onto tape, the hard drive will automatically start recording as the tape runs out.

Zoom Error, Lens won't close

There are several causes for this to happen.
1. The lens assy is out of alignment and stuck; stalling the motor.
2. The motor itself is defect
3. If you can hear the motor working , then it will be a stripped plastic gear between motor drive and lens assy.

You are nearly right or even has stripped gears. Check out Olympus for a possible repair I do not think you will be jumping for joy at the price though.
