I have just signed up to Sky broadband and my line will be active in a couple of days. I don't wish to use the Sky router as I have a brand new Belkin wireless network. Anyone know how I can make the Belkin work with Sky?
Sky have conceded I can use other routers with their service, but then oddly add that they canot tell me what the settings are?!
Help!
-   Just bought a Belkin N wireless router and am having problems setting it up with Sky. First off their list of ISPs on the installation process does not include Sky. Not sure whether to use BT or Generic but so far neither one works. The install procedure does allow some manual input of settings but I'm at a loss as what it is looking for. I'm a little inexperienced too which no doubt is making the problem worse.

I'm not into hacking what I cannot find on ISP's sites
From what I can gather from the Sky Broadband site reading the manual installation procedures -- the process is pretty much automatic when it comes to installing their equipment leaving no clues as to how they configure it. What is the model if the Belkin router? Options probably exist to attach your device to theirs either as a router (establishing a second network behind theirs) or an access point joining as a member of their network - meaning there would would be two wireless networks in either case in the house (as there are no indications I have found on the site that the provided the sky router can be configured in any way such as turning off wireless). At least according to the documentation the sky router's wireless is running WPA-PSK security / encryption which is good -- and the documentation for attaching non-sky wireless adapters appears to be documented here.
- Sorry just opened up another link on "equipment help" and there are some configuration possibilities for the sky supplied router -- depending in what is available the configuration may be extractable for input to your Belkin router afterall. Sometimes you do not find what you are looking for where you expect it!

We have a 3000 sq ft split level house, so range is critical (could we extend range with antennas, access points)?
Stability and reliability are also critical
We use a comcast cable modem
Must support mixed environment - 2 Macs connecting wirelessly, 2 PCs (1 with a wired connection)
We all want to be able to share a printer (which will connect to router with a wired connection)
Network attached storage, media streaming - I'm not worried about these now, looking for basic connectivity. Though would be great if I could grow into this in the future...

What port number is associated with the printer port? I am trying to use the USR5461 router with Windows 7. I've configured a standard TCP /IP port using the router's default name of 192.168.2.1:1631/printers/My_Printer. Windows offers a default port number of 9100, but trying to print using the combination of this name and number does not work--no data is received at the printer at all. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

I recently bought a D-Link WBR=2310 Rangebooster wireless router. The installation disk is only for Windows. I'm using a Macbook. Is there software for Apple? If not how do I set it up?
