Check your heat discharge vent. It's probably stopped up with lent Check it completely, from the machine thru all the fittings, even the little door on the outside of your home, if you use one.

did you clean the LINT filter? try vacuuming the lint trap area. wet or damp lint can get built up in the lint trap area. it is good to regularly clean the area as it is a Major fire hazard.

Dryer is tumbling but no heat - when I reset it shuts off after about 10 min and the Drying, Cool Down, and Extended Tumble lights are all flashing.

Janet McDonald,

I understand that you are having trouble with your dryer not heating and not running a full cycle and shutting off with the Drying, Cool Down, and Extended Tumble lights flashing. What I suggest is to give your appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power off at the circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. After the 3-5 minutes, bring power back and try to start a cycle. If it does not complete the cycle and shuts off with the lights flashing, I suggest to either contact the manufacturer or a local appliance technician. This way you will be able to locate the cause of this issue and have it resolved.

-Best Regards-

Turns on for 2 mins then shut down

It's over heating - open it and clean the dust out. Also, check the heat sink and make sure the heat compound has not dried up - remove the old dried compound and re-apply the new stuff.

The heater element is not heating, they are fragile easy to get to at the back of the dryer. Check the thermal or overheat switch too, but would bet its the heater element.

TIMER PROBLEM??? I have a Kenmore Elite Mod# 110.63932101. You can set the timer for 60 min's and watch it spin all the way down, beep & shut off in about 5 min's. Everything seems to be operating fine...

The operating thermostat controls the timer and should open and close the circuit as it senses heat during the dry cycle. If it fails to open it will just keep the timer 'energized all the time and run straight through and go off. Change the 'operating thermostat'

Sensor dry timer problem

Clean off the moisture sensor bars. They are the silver curved strips about 4 inches long inside the drum near the lint fitler. If you use fabric softner sheets, a waxy build up will coat the bars. The dyer can no longer sense the damp clothes, so it goes into the cool down and then shuts off. Time dry bypasses the moisture sensor.
