Regarding my laptop connection

Hello there. My problem is I am trying to connect my laptop to my t.v so I can view my moniter onto my tv screen. I tried connecting the s-video cord to my tv but its still wont work. Do I have to enable any setting on my laptop?

Thank you for your help.

Assuming you do not have a TV with either HDMI or VGA connectors (fairly common on LCD and plasma TVs), the simplest way is to buy a vga to TV adaptor. They are not expensive and easy to set up for most TVs. You can expect to get up to 1076x768 max without being unreadable.
If however you have a VGA connector then use a standard monitor lead and set up the laqptop to extend you desktop or duplicate your desktop on another screen depending on your preference.
if you have HDMi get a VGA to HDMI connector and use that, not sure about the image quality on this one but should be sufficient for your need.

You shouldn't need to, though I've run into one or two laptops that only like the s-video if you get that hooked up before you turn the machine on. I don't know if that's universal, it could be as simple as using the Function key and selecting which video output to use. It will usually default to it's own screen. Hope this helps, let me know how it turns out!

Hello, everyone!! i have lenovo ideapad y560 with inbuild tv tuner & also a connector wire to connect dish cable to laptop... but my question is that how do i watch tv on my laptop OR in which...

Hi

TV tuner cards allow you to view programming on a computer system. Although desktop computers allow you to install internal TV tuner cards, laptop systems do not have the available space for internal cards. Because of this, laptop computers have PCI express card slots. This slot allows you to install and remove (at your will) additional hardware, such as TV tuner cards.

  • TV tuner card
  • Driver installation CD
  • Software installation

  1. Locate the PCI express card slot (located on the side of your computer opposite the disc drive). Push in on the protective cover on the slot to unlock it from the case. It pops out slightly, allowing you to remove the card.
  2. Slide in the TV tuner into the PCI express card slot. The card clicks into place and a light blinks on when the card has connected successfully to the laptop computer.
  3. Insert the driver installation CD into the disc drive of the computer. Momentarily a driver installation wizard appears on the screen. Click "Next" on the welcome page, then accept the given license agreement. Choose "Next" two more times, then select "Install" and the drivers from the driver installation CD install onto the computer.
  4. Eject the driver installation CD and insert the software installation CD. This is the program you use to view the connected receiver. As with the driver installation CD, wait for the installation wizard to load up onto the screen. Accept the license agreement, leave the installation name and location blank, then click "Install" to install the software.
  5. Restart the computer. Upon restart the laptop is ready to begin using the TV tuner card.

I'm trying to hokk up my old dell moniter,i brook the screen

Hello,

First, make sure that your old dell monitor is working. Also make sure that the VGA out-port on your laptop is also working (by using a known good screen on it first)

Connect the Dell screen onto the VGA port of the laptop, then use "FN and F6" to source to the Dell monitor as external unit. There should be a mini screen that pops up where you can choose the monitor with the FN F6 key combination.

Laptop to TV Connection

Check if you are sending the signal to the external monitor. On my laptop with Windows 7, I can right click on an open section of the desktop and choose Graphics Properties. In this window, I can choose to send the display to the laptop's internal monitor, the external monitor or both.
Pressing Crtl-Alt-F1 will force the video onto the external monitor on the fly (Crtl-Alt-F3 goes back to the laptop's screen).

When I have added a second monitor to a desktop, I needed to reboot and allow new hardware to be found before the related Screen Resolution (right click on the desktop again) let me find the second monitor and choose if this was a duplicate or extended screen.

I hope this helps.

Can someone help me connect my Acer Aspire 3680?

Your graphics card on that should push that resolution so I would probably lean toward the tv. Try changing the aspect resolution or (zoom button) on the remote to change the way the screen is delivered. As long as the resolution on the laptop is a widescreen resolution and the same for the television. Make sure in your tv settings, that the aspect is set at 16:9.

I connected my hp laptop to my pioneer plasma via svga cables. When i select my pc input using my tv remote it says "plasma display no input signal". How do I fix this?

Hello. You have to go into your Display Settings, in your HP Laptop, and chose the Dual Screen/Monitor Setting & make sure you check the "Extend my Windows Desktop onto this Monitor" Box. If you are trying to view your Internet Browser on your TV - you will need to Click on and Drag your Browser to the Right... of off your Laptop Screen and onto your TV Screen. This will take care of your problem!

Right click on the tv symbol along the bottom of the screen, view available wireless networks and your desktop should be listed, giving you the option to connect, unless you have put security onto the network, in that case you should know the password.
