How do i remove the squirrel cage type blower fan.

Most fans of this type have a cover between the motor and the actual fan. The cover is usually metal, sometimes plastic and usually has 4 or more screws holding it down. Remove the screws and the fan and cover will come out as one assembly (Sometimes there's a rubber seal between the cover and the housing that may be sticky you may have to gently pry up around the cover to free it from the base its screwed down to). To remove the motor you need to remove the squirrel cage from the shaft, then the cover can be removed and the motor replaced.

How do I replace my a/c blower on pontiac 2002 Grandpre!

this is pretty easy to do. The blower motor (supplies the air into the cabin compartment through the various vents) is located under the passenger side of the dash. There is usually a trim cover that needs to be removed gain access to the blower motor. Usually a 9/32" socket can be used to remove the screws or you may have plastic push pin type fasteners holding the trim cover in place.

Once the cover is removed you will see the blower motor. Unplug the connector and remove the three screws holding it to the HVAC housing. Typically you will need a 5.5mm socket to remove the screws (yes its a 5 and 1/2 mm socket....Silly GM! ). once those screws are removed the blower will drop down and can be removed.

Install motor/regulator to 2000 camry solara

It easy ! You need a philips2_bing.gif and flat screw driver,8" X 4" block of wood and a needle nose pliar.
Use flat screw driver and pry out the two or three dust covers for the arm rest screws then use philips and remove the screws. Next use the flat screw driver and pry out the black plastic mirror cover from the inside of the door. Pry out the switch panel ( aka master switch panel) with the flat screw driver and disconnect it. On the side of the door panel just above the striker is this plastic push pull typeof a hold in screw. Use flat screw driver to get it to move a little then pull it out with the needle nose. Depending on which door your doing if you have a map folder ( driver or front passenger door) in the door there are two more screw to remove on the bottom of the door.
Now the inside door handle is tricky it comes out in two pieces. Use philips and get the only hold down screw you see out.( you may have to pry out al ittle screw cover first) Now the handle cover is removed by placeing the flat screw driver on the rear of the outside of the cover top and on the outside rear bottom to release the tangs that are holding it onto the panel.Pry it out lightly you may have to place the screw driver over the top of the door release button and pry that way. Don't loose your cool its a pain but it will fall out. Once its removed unhook the panel.

Next lift the plastic cover and remove the six gold2_bing.gif bolts first(For motor and regulator) Then push the window down till you see the two bolts holding the window to the regulator .Remove them, BEFORE YOU PULL OUT THE MOTOR AND REGULATOR YOU WILL SEE TWO TANGS THAT HELP HOLD THE REGULATOR AND MOTOR TO THE DOOR MARK THE RELOCATION , NOW pull out the motor and regulator have an assistant hold up the glass while you place the two blocks of wood to hold up the window. Now order your regulator and installation is in reverse. Good luck kate. Keep me posted.

This procedure is for both regulator and motor You take them out as a unit then once there out there are three torque screws that seperate the motor from the regulator. It easy ! You need a philips2_bing.gif and flat screw driver,6" X 2" block of wood and a needle nose pliar.

Access location of front heater blower motor

It located behind the dash on the Passenger side.
And yes you can easily do this yourself saving you alot of money! Have you first checked the Front Blower Motor Relay located in the IPM Relay and Fuse Box located inside the engine compartment? Remove the cover. The location identification is located on the back (inside) side of the Cover. You can switch-out a similiar size and shape Relay and check the operation. If the Blower now works then the Relay was bad and needs to be replaced. The Motor and Resistor cost alot more money than the Relay.
Before we do this: What is the Motor doing? Nothing? OR DOES IT WORK ON HIGH ONLY? If the Motor works on High only then it is not the Motor but the Blower (Fan) Motor Resistor. This is located near the Motor. It is identified by 3 to 4 wires going into it. Remove the two (2) retaining nuts/metal screws and remove. Disconnect the wiring connection and replace. I don't want you to replace the Motor and find out you wasted your money when it was the Resistor.
It could be also both the Motor and the Resistor.
Direction to remove/replace the Blower Motor:
1. Disconnect the Negative cable from the Battery and wait two minutes. This is to de-energize the Air Bag System which you will be working near.
2. Remove the Glovebox.
3. Remove the four (4) hex screws holding on the Blower Motor Cover.
4. Remove the three (3) nuts/screws holding in the Blower Motor. Make sure you support the Motor, as it will drop down.
5. Disconnect the electrical connection.
Installation is the reverse of the above.
Check operations before putting the Glove Box Back on.

How do i remove a blower motor from my 1997 yukon

I replaced my friends blower resistor, which is right next to the motor and it was very easy. I pulled the motor out at the same time to check the condition of it. The hardest part was finding the correct socket - GM has used either a fractional metric sized bolt head, or some crazy size like 5/64".

Remove the black trim/sound insulating cover under the passenger side of the dash - there are three 7mm-headed screws. If you can't find all the screws and can't pull the cover out of the way, don't force it. I cracked the A/C housing because I couldn't find the middle screw and tried to pull the cover down a little hard. The left most screw is over the transmission hump and is very difficult to get to. I didn't remove that one as the cover is flexible enough that you can bend it down and get access to the motor once you get the other screws out.

The motor is the big round thing on the right, mounted to the bottom of the HVAC box. Other than being awkward to get to the bolts, it's easy to change out. I wasn't able to unplug it's electrical connector until I had the motor loose.

Good Luck and Merry Xmas

I have had the same problem to remove the motor you need to remove the two screws at the back of the motor next the two screws holding on the circuit board (so you can get at the screws around the gearbox ) next remove the cover on the gearbox by removing the four screws and lift off after you have done this you can lift the motor out but remember you still have the wires connected but you can get at the screws to tighten the head down try using lock-tight on the screws
