It may well be some form of virus or spyware.

It may also be that you have too many applications running at once eg. lots of toolbars and instant message typ programs.

It can also happen on graphic intensive applications.

You should rule out nasty stuff first.

MBAM !

for a free one its pretty darned good !

From a CLEAN computer download and put on a flash drive.

Copy to your DESKTOP on the suspec computer.

Run it but dont change any options just use what it offers.

When its done let it clean anything it finds.

Its where I always start with an infected machine.

As for antivirus AVOID Norton or Mcafee but try the AVG FREE version MBAM should clean up without buying

Only continued use would require purchase As for too many applications that would be up to you to decide what you REALLY need and dont. Most toolbars are a waste of both time and space and can hog computers down. Maybe a good clean up is in order ?

It may just be a "leaking application"

These are badly coded programs that dont release memory when they should and just keep taking more to do the same job.

May I suggest you download
"hijackthis"

It is a program that can make a report on what you have running in such a way that you can post that information to certain sites and experts there will look at it.

They will then give you reccomendations as to how you can remove programs or fix some issues that may be upsetting your computer.

Dont post the log here but follow the nstructions and help the program offers to send it to one of the sites it will offer you.

If you understand startup lists you may even be able to spot som things yourself that you dont want to run and disable them from hijack this.

Reinatall you scanning software as there might b something corupt then because it just does not say your out of space for nothing , check your hard drive and your save point as well if its saving to your hard disk as it should make sure you run scan disk on it. When in doubt reinstall the program if it keeps doing it have the hard disk evaluated.

SOURCE: Have used toolbox 5.0 regularly to scan film negs

Either your hard drive is full, or the program is trying to save to a different drive (CD, flash drive) which doesn't have room for files.

If you're saving as TIF files you may have filled a lot of hard drive space, as they are much bigger than JPG files.

Can not scan. Get message "Unable to scan. Make sure there is enough space on target disk". Changed default temporary disk location, have plenty of disk space.

Had this before and after a day of playing about with cleaning out the windows temp folders, I simply uninstalled all the driver and toolbox software, downloaded the latest version from Canon's site and reinstalled it. After doing a bit of research, found out it was caused by a windows update conflicting with the drivers

Scanner sends message "Unable to scan. Make sure there is enough space on target disk"

Check the resolution settings.  If you're trying to scan at 9600dpi, the image will be huge, it may not fit into ram either, so the swap file would be used and you would need twice the file space to scan the image.

Scanning at 600dpi is generally fine enough for most uses (300 or less for web use), including scanning photographs (you may want to scan negatives at 1200 though.)

Unable to scan.make sure there is enough space on the target disk

Do a "reset".
•Go into the CanoScan toolbox,
•click Settings,
•click the Defaults button on the bottom
•then click OK.
It will take a few seconds to reset and you should be good to go.

Won't scan - says not enough disk space.

I had the same problem. Solved it by going into the "CanoScan Toolbox" - "Settings" - and pressing the "Defaults" button in that panel - and then "OK" button. Afterwards everything worked fine. Hope this helps you.

LiDE 600DF - Unable to scan

Hi Peter

Have had the same problem, seems to come and go a bit... Quickest & easiest fix is to go to CanoScan toolboox > Settings then press the 'defauls' button at bottom... this sets everything back to factory settings and should fix your problem. Cheers.
