Hello,

Flashing power lights usually indicate a bad power supply. you should be able to do the repair yourself if you can solder. Check out the pictures of what bad capacitors look like on our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm Now open the back of your monitor and look at the power supply board, replace all of the capacitors that look like the pictures. You should then be back going again. The values you need to order will be marked on the sides of the ones that are blown but will be like 220uf, 470uf, 1000uf and they will have a voltage rating too. The replacements can be ordered from many places on the internet or from us, don't use ones from Radio Shack they are not rated for high heat so they will blow our in a month or two. Be sure to install the new ones with the polarity stripe ging the same direction as the old ones come out. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $35 + return shipping. If you have any questions just let me know.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Turn tv on. green light solid display, no picture or sound

The flashing green light is likely indicative of a self-test failure, indicating the TV has detected some sort of internal fault. With no picture or sound, one strong suspect is the power supply. Flat-panel TV's have an internal DC power supply that converts the inbound AC current, and when these fail, or are unable to supply a minimum level of power to the set, it can behave as you describe, providing only enough power for the green light to illuminate.

Sx30is flash off position. I would like to take a picture in low light without a flash. The camera emits a green light as a warning that the flash is off. I would like to not have either the flash or...

The reason the camera has the green light is not to warn that the flash is off. The green light is used to help the camera auto-focus in low light situations. If you disable auto-focus and use manual focus the green light should not flash when taking the picture. Let me know if that helps!

Orange light flashes on when turn on Olympus c-50 zoom camera and orange and green lights in upper left corner blink when try to take pictures. Won't take any pictures

The flashing Orange light means the charge is flashing.
The flashing Green light means the focus and exposure are not correct.

Have you recently replaced the batteries? Or are you using rechargeable batteries? Lack of enough "Juice" could allow for the flash to not charge up (Orange) therefore not allowing the camera to get the correct exposure (Green). I would try new fresh batteries or a new battery pack. If that doesn't fix the issue it must be a bad circuitry in the body that is shorting not letting the flash charge.

Regards,
Jacob

Yes, do look for caps with bulging tops as shown in my pictures, you should replace them in a set.

The picture on my monitor works for a half of a second when I first turn it on, then it fades to black. What can I do to fix this?

If you can see your desktop faintly in the background, this means that the CFL lighting tubes have stopped working and would need to be replaced. However try to increase the brightness using the buttons on the monitor.

Rate me high.

Viewsonic VX710 17" Flat Panel Display. It turns on and after 1 or 2 Seconds shuts the backlight off L.E.D. satys on but the backlight won't comeback on. No cap seems to be blown up.

You may have bad transformers, need to be checked, DC Ohms meter may not be enough, need to use inductor tester (I use Sencore LC75). You can also have bad lamps (bad solder connections). The caps may not have any sign of bulging but can have high ESR, see some pictures here for guide: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Will not come on. I have checked both the cables (power and computer)and they are ok. When pressing the power button the green light in it flickers slightly but monitor will not come on.

remove the cable from the back of the computer with the monitor and computer turned on. If it gives you a no signal error either the cable or your graphics card inside the computer needs to be replaced.
