Question about HP Pavilion DV6449US Notebook
HP PAVILION DV2000 will not boot up. When i press the power button all lights come on but laptop will not boot up.
the laptop dont boot up, i did all you said and plus i disconnect the CMOS for a couple of minutes it boot up once i suth it down a try to boot it up and didnt work. what i can do?
I had the same problem with a dx6000 series-here's what I did:
1- to get it to boot I would start it and hit ESC, F!, F@, F# etc randomly-then shut it off- when I restart it boots.
2 - I took it down to the mobo (not that hard -you'll find how using Google). I reseated the processor and took the power port off and reseated that as well-
Everything works like normal now-how it lasts.

Your problem could be the Internal DC Power Jack that is soldered onto the motherboard. I've seen quite a few HP Laptops with this problem. Send it to these guys at www.generalsystemsconsulting.com

The DV's all have pretty serious issues as a whole. DV1000's are currently under investigation for class action and I could give them info to add about 20 more model numbers but these are not my suit. The one with the power light flashing try a new adapter first but I'm sceptical. Weve seen way too many of these in and they like to short components are kill Maxim chips for PMU..
