Question about JVC AV-27230 27" TV
In my case, the adjustment was available from outside the TV. Sortof. On the rear of the TVabout 2 inches to the right of the coax in, there are two vertical slits on a little protrusion. Inside the slits are the two adjustment screws. The lower screw adjusts brightness, the upper screw adjusts focus.

Your problem could be the secondary anode cable or CRT socket, and you cannot fix this problem yourself unless you are a techie. It happens when your CRT base socket burns out, or when the pins are rusted or when the spark gap conducts to drain out the secondary anode voltage to the ground. It is better you call a service engineer.
