I've got the blue screen of death stating "unmountable_boot_volume" for my Sony VAIO VGN-NR110E. the technical information says "STOP: 0x000000ED (0x84FE9248, 0xC0000185, 0x00000000,...

That error appears when the corruption of the hard disk is so great that even the file system and its partitions (including the recovery one) are gone.
You must order a recovery cd directly from Sony, there's no other way.

How to remove hard drive from Sony Vaio Laptop VGN - NR110E?

On the bottom of the laptop there should be a cover for a quare or rectangle shaped slot, most likely with two screws in it. Unscrew these, and the hard drive bay will come loose. Just unscrew it from the bay and it should be free.

The warranty may cover it if it is still valid. If not then you will have to by a external mouse, they are cheap and no hassle to carry with the laptop.

My sony viao battery is not detected

Most likely the battery is defective, if you have a test meter try to measure the voltage on the contacts.
There is a fusible link in the battery, ther to protect it, my guess is it has fused thus rendering the battery "invisible" to the laptop. Are you able to try another battery?
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

This Vaio VGN-NR110E has DVD drive trouble. Disgusted with all the fatware packaged along with the Restore DVD, I used a 'plain' copy of Vista from a Dell desktop to wipe the HD and reinstall. Everything...

you will need to reinstall the drivers for the Sony Vaio once again so that the DVD drive is detected and set.
So please check for drivers for Sony Vaio from this link:

Replace keyboard on vaio vgn-ns215

there are specific vaio notebook models where the keyboards cannot be easily replaced. that is the reason why their parts department do not sell keyboard parts. if that is the case, what you can do is to call sony to set up a repair for keyboard replacement or go to sony.com/repair if you want to process the repair online
