Question about VideoLAN VLC

1 Answer

I'm just wondering if it's possible to stream live video of your PC desktop screen to a webpage on another PC using VLC 1.0? I've tried different settings in VLC and I just haven't been able to get it to work. Thank you.

You need to find a screen capture program that captures your desktop as a camera then find a streaming utility for your website to point to that camera that was created as your desktop. It is possiable I just do not know right off hand what the program names are.

Windows 7 video problem

1. Make sure you have installed/updated the graphic drivers.
2. You may install K-Lite Codec Pack/Player or VLC to play DVDs and video files.
3. for streaming videos you have to install flash player. Try installing Google Chrome.
Hope it would fix the issue

My download movie not playinng

It is possible that you do not have the video format downloaded program within your PC. So check on the type of file that was downloaded and if the PLAYER FOR THIS FORMAT is downloaded and installed , you will be able to play.

Is it possible to use a network drive to store recorded TV on and play back from there

Yes, you could do that.

But, playing them from the network will depend on their format.
For example. avi files they will be streamed by Windows Media player by default.

However, to stream videos in your Local Network, you could use the method described here

Multimedia video Controller

hi...

Have you tried different video players... like Power DVD or VLC perhaps... I prefer VLC... it plays almost everything... If the video is directly played Online from the internet then the player you are using needed to be updated to get the controller or filter that it needs...

happy fixya... don't forget to rate please.. thanks...

Video outputs

There are TV/Monitor hybrids out there. You could get a 60'' plasma widescreen and use it as your desktop monitor for example. But as far as watching 'streaming video' from like....HBO from your local cable provider, you will not be able to do it with this computer unless you purchase an add-on card (be sure you have the open PCI slot first).

You would need something like the cards listed in the url below (again, be sure your motherboard is compatable with it first).

your internet connection might be too slow or not enough bandwidth available. Are you doing this streaming from within a browser? If you are, try a different browser like Firefox or Google Chrome

How to transmit video from one computer to many ones?

Hi hungvtst,

Depending on what kind of video you would like to "stream" (or transmit) there is a program called VLC Media Player you may download it for free. It will allow you to stream videos to many computers at once. Here's the guide on how to use VLC to start a Streaming Server.

That should put you in the right direction.

DVD Player on Desktop

Have you tried using different players?  One of my favorite players is VLC.  You can google it and download it for free.  It is a bit difficult to figure out at first but it will handle just about any type of video even fragmented.
