Question about Stanley Bostitch 18 Gauge Brad Nailer 1 - 1/4IN - BT125K - 2

1 Answer

18 ga. Bostitch nailer that has a small brad jammed in it.

I have an 18 ga. Bostitch brad nailer that has always been reliable. However, a small brad misfired or was crooked and is jammed in the throat (?). I have a set of hex wrenches, but none fit the hex screws to remove the front parts so I can unjam it. Is there some kind of special too for this, or do I just keep looking for the right hex wrench?

Check your hex wrenches they could be standard when they need to be metric.

Brand new brad nailer shoots 2 nails and then it blows air

first make sure that you are using the right guage nails and if so I would return it to the place of purchase for replacement., the blowing of air could indicate a jammed nail in the track, look for that first and make sure the driver is retracting fully.

Shooting 2 nails at a time and then jams

make sure you are using 18 gauge brads in the gun. also if the brads have gotten wet or are old, the paper or wax coating on the becomes weak and it will release more than one nail at a time. try different brads in it.

Strip and clean the whole diaphragm and spring arrangement. Also check whether a bad nail hasn't damaged the piston guide and caused it to jam when on return stroke.
