Question about Proscan PS38000 TV
Thanks for using FixYa. This issue might be due to power supply fault, back light lamp or loose wiring. A faulty power supply will work normally for some time when it’s cold but once heated it will shut down the TV to protect other components. Also please check all the connections from and to the TV.
If still the problem persists, try this procedure---
First bang on the upper side of the TV with your hand and see whether it is staying on for a long time or staying on and off. If the issue is slightly resolved but not completely, then it means that a wire, connection or cold solder joint is loose which you can check after opening the back cover of the TV.
Before you open the TV first shut it down and un-plug it for about three hours so that the high voltage is discharged. Please stay clear of the high voltage section which is in a metal casing from where a big black and thick wire is going in the back side of the picture tube. You can check the continuity with OHM meter or Multi-Meter. Replace the part which has gone bad.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
