Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Hello, My cd player shows (no disc) when i insert a cd that will play on another player, Would using a disc cleaner help. I would be gratefull for any help with this problem.Regards Archie
Your lens has come out of adjustment. It is reading "between the lines" so to speak. This can be caused by mechanical stress on the cradle holding the lens or loose screws therein, these are normally held in by a dob of (let's say nail polish for the layman.) locking fluid. This can crack with age and allow a screw that is NOT screwed in enough to loosen enough to allow movement in the cradle. Try adjusting an old FDD, it will not read disks until readjusted back to where it should be. This should give you the confidence to adjust the unit, otherwise, take it to a shop or discard it, let's face it, CD/DVD players are cheap now, just buy a DVD player to play your CD's and hook it to your stereo for under $50! Benefits are: It will also play MP3 disks.... Cheers.
