The alarm should not have anything to do with that, but the best way to find that out would be to have the installer hook the factory ignithion and starter wires back up and see if it fixes the problem

I have a 2000 dodge caravan none of the gauges work my tack. my temp my speedo and my fuel gauge can you help me how to fix this thanks dean

Check fuse for gauges. If ok, try banging on top of dash above instrument panel to see if they begin to work again. If they do, possible loose connection or defective cluster

The lights for my speedo, clock, temp gauge and fuel gauge not working, indicators, main beam, high beam, oddometer, handbrake, foglight all working ok?

You should have a fuse in the fusebox for the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster houses your gauges, speedometer, clock, and temperature gauge or light. Check the fuse to see if it blown and replace with the same size number on the fuse. Don't decrease or increase the number of the fuse. Stay with the same amp number that is on the old fuse when you replace it. Hope this helps.Good luck.

Where do i start looking for a solution for the following problem o my 2000 dodge grand caravan se?

If you google ( resolder or solder dodge Caravan dash cluster ) you find pictures etc that will make it easier for you. It's actually a pretty common problem around that year. The solder in the cluster where your harness and wiring connector attach (at back) gets cracked and what your describing starts to happen. It's a matter of removing the dash cluster, remove cluster/circuit board from housing, flip it over and just re-heat/re-puddle the spots where the solder is on back of circuit board where that connector attached. If you want more info, feel free to get back to me, but I expect you'll find a good picture if you google it. Good Luck, let me know how it goes.

Hello Mcook389,
If you have above average soldering and de-soldering skills you can perform the repair yourself.
I have repaired many GM instrument clusters and without question this issue is affecting GM instrument cluster all over the country. The particular item that is giving you the bad gauge readings is the stepper motor that drives each gauge.
Please visit my website for complete repair information if you decide to outsource the repair. www.kincerservice.com
