Look on your remote to see if you have a picture butto or you can try and go to the menu settings and see if you can adjust the tv format from widescreen to regular or 4:3 or 16:9

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: picture too big for screen; cutting off top of

Go to the picture setup of your settings menu.
Somewhere in there are options for selecting picture size.
The options will be similar to: Normal, Wide, Zoom, Stretch
You have probably selected Zoom, try Normal.

SOURCE: cannot see top of screen

Hi,

I think you have accidentally zoomed your screen. To resolve this problem, simply press the "WIDE" button on your Vizio remote control repeatedly until the display returns to normal size.

If you are in Standard Definition mode (SD) the "WIDE" button will cycle through options for "NORMAL", "ZOOM" and "PANORAMIC" If you are in High Definition mode (HD), the "WIDE" button will cycle between "NORMAL" and "ZOOM".

I'm fairly sure the problem you have is a result of being in "ZOOM" mode. If you have tried pressing the "WIDE" button or if you don't have the original Vizio remote, please post back and let me know the details of the remote you are using and any external receiving equipment, e.g.Cable/Satellite receiver.

Regards,
BElectric

How come the top and sometimes the bottom of my screen are cut off

Not all bradcast are in 16:9 resolution (wide screen). Most are still in 4:3 (old TV).
Sometime the advertisements are in 16:9 letterbox to project correctly on 4:3 TV and TV logo or titles are on the bottom or top of the picture. If TV is set to project wide screen, these logos or writings will be cut off.
If you have an option to switch TV resolution from remount, you will see whole picture.
Check your TV manual for settings.

Screen cuts off top of heads

Check the menu settings for the picture. You may be expanding the image to fill the sides, in the process, cutting the top and bottom.

Heads cut off on the screen

Ocean's Eleven. Best remake movie, I think.
I believe your TV is in "ZOOM" mode for the screen. This will make a 4x3 picture come up closer to fill in the 16x9 screen, but this cuts off the top and the bottom.
Keep pressing the WIDE button on your remote until the picture looks best.
If you have HD channels, the screen mode should be on NORMAL. HD channels will have the 16x9 screen format.

The non-HD channels will have 4x3 screen format. When the screen mode is on NORMAL, you will have the cut off picture on the sides because the 4x3 format will not fill in a 16x9 screen.
