Sounds like water leak.
For example, broken pipe... or water running out of TP valve.
That would explain variable hot-and-cold water at tap.
Turn off all taps, and observe if water meter is registering water usage.

sounds like the mix valve on the washer is broken and not opening properly -- the mix valve is the valve that both hot and cold water are connected to on the back of the machine.. turn off water valves and remove the hoses,, remove the back panel from the washer -- the mixer is held in place by one little screw,, also mark the wires going to the mixer ( hot/cold ) --- remove the mixer valve and take it down to your local appliance repair shop and match it up to a new one -- install the new mixer and connect wires and panel and then hoses and all will be working good as new.

Water starts of hot but then starts to get cold.

You need to verify that you still have hot water. Sounds like you're running out.

The water coming out of my faucets, washing machine, shower, etc. is not getting hot.

Your heater is on? Do you regularly drain off sediment?

Have you contunity tested your elements (power off)? Volt tested the same (power on)?

Has anyone fooled with the thermostat?

There is the possibility the dip tube (cold water going in) has broken off and instead of sending the cold water to the bottom, the cold goes straight from the cold water entrance pipe to the hot water exit pipe. Normally, one would expect cold water to sink and hot water to be on the top but, when you are drawing water off the top, with a broken dip tube, the water travels the shortest distance required, thus, your luke warm water.

I hope you can find your trouble by following one of these hints.

Thanks

No hot water filling washer

Check to see if there is a filter located in the valve, remove and clean.
If still no hot water then disconnect hose and make sure you have actually got water at valve, if you have and it still does not come in, and you can hear a buzzing noise, then I would say that it is sticking and you have a faulty inlet valve, only solution is to replace said valve.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Water drip into washer, used to gush in. Now water pipes bang, whine

The problem is the 10 cent rubber washer in a shut off valve in your plumbing. The brass screw that holds this washer has corroded and the washer has come loose. It now floats around inside the valve and the water flow can be blocked at one time, whistle, howel and make bangs at another. It could be any valve including the main shut off. You can listen to the pipes but the sound travels, so you are looking for the loudest spot. A new washer and screw could fix it, but sometimes the screw is broken off requiring a new valve stem. Be prepared to replace the whole valve.
